I always thought to dye carnations (I'm assuming other flowers work this way too) you just added the dye to the water and as the flowers drank they sucked up the color. Not sure if this is true, but its worth a try?

Ditto Booger+Bear. I've never heard of a different way to do it.

It works on carnations b/c they have super thin petals, but I'm pretty sure that the roses in the PP were sprayed, not dyed I'd find floral spray and just spray them, or try it but you'll need a LOT of dye for tulips and I think the dye might kill the flower!

Rainbow roses are made by inserting dye into the stems as they are growing. :)http://thefuntimesguide.com/2009/01/rainbow_roses.php
