St Lucia Sandala - Travel Agent Needed????

We were planning on booking though sandals directly, but I saw several posts about using a travel agent.  Can an agent get better prices than those posted on the sandals website?  If so, any recs??

Re: St Lucia Sandala - Travel Agent Needed????

  • we are using Jennifer at VIP Vacations--we doing Sandals in Antigua.  But she is everything Sandals.  I found her prices to be a little better and if a better deal comes along she will lower the price to whichever sale is better.  Jennifervipvacationsinc@verizon.net is her addy!
  • I second Jennifer at VIP.  She's been a pleasure to work with so far.

  • My travel agent is a Sandals Platinum Preferred Specialist.  She has been to all the resorts and I believe can get some great deals.  We are going to HI not a Sandals resort though.  Her website is www.Travel_Dreams.bizOh, and she is beyond patient and does not mind answering 15,000 questions :)GL!
  • I also highly recommend Irene from Travel Dreams.  She is great!!
  • We used Nancy from www.myislandgetaways.com She totally set us up and we had a great upgrade and everyone knew her at the resort which was cool. We paid less than booking on line and received so much info. She set up our private dinner on the beach and helicopter transfers and is rated one of the "Top Sandals Agency Worldwide".I have referred many of my friends to her and they all love her. We did two resorts in St. Lucia (Sandals Regency and Rendezvous) and much preferred Sandals, just was more our style and included more.
  • I booked my honeymoon yesterday directly from the Sandals website. They have great feature - online chat with sale person. Live chat will pop up a minute or two after you enter the website and the lady was able to answer all my questions and walked me through the booking very smothly. By the way they are doing up to 65% discounts now and if you book with the live chat you can get some additional options. I also booked tours from the hotel online at the same time. I couldn't book the spa (most of the treatmants are in the Grande St. Lucian) online yesterday night, so I went on the website today and through the live chat got it done as well. The only pitfall so far is that it takes up to 48 hours for the online account get active, so I have to wait to make sure that my booking was done properly. The person on the live chat can give you the phone # of the resort and you can talk to them directly after you done booking the room.I booked Haycon - the more relaxed out of three Sandals resorts on St. Lucia. Good Luck
  • Hey!I would highly suggest working with a TA!  My DH took our 2 year anniversary trip to Sandals Antigua (I know...I'm still lurking on theknot boards....but I just can't get away from it!). We spent 7 nights in the new Mediterranean Village and I could not be more thrilled with our experience.  We loved the resort and our TA-Nancy Finn so much we decided to head back this year too! In the past we have always booked our trips ourselves, but after many recommendations we booked with Nancy at My Island Getaways (http://www.myislandgetaways.com/) and OMG...she is AMAZING! She handled the entire booking process, pre-checkin, she emailed the staff to let them know of our arrival. She also has her clients upgraded (if the resort can accommodate)...which was my favorite part:) And all of it is free of charge. I wish I knew about her when we were planning out honeymoon----She would have made the process so much less stressful!HTH Dana
  • Agreed about Nancy from Island Getaways. We could have not been more taken care of from beginning to end for our St. Lucia Sandals Grande honeymoon. Huge fan of them, We would never book without them, we did receive a better price than online and got some great bennies. I am not a big fan of just booking on line and being a number especially for our HM. We got such great specialized service and we are getting a great discount for our anniversary trip. I would never book any other way, we are so spoiled now. duncantobe I love your pictures on some of the previous posts of your trip to Sandals Antigua.
  • I also have worked with Nancy from Island Getaways and I Love Her! i first found her when I stood up to my girlfriends wedding in Negril. She took such great care of us that I started to use her for all my trips and I travel a lot. We used her for our trip to Sandals Whitehouse where we got engaged. She saw to every detail. She is now taking care of our DW at Sandals Antigua. I can't wait. She is so easy to work with and personable. Its as if I have known her forever. She really wants to make sure that your trip is perfect. We have never been disappointed by her. Her prices are great and if you do find a lower price she will match it. Plus you get all of her ideas and she has been to the caribbean many times as well as St. Lucia. She really knows her stuff. When you get to Sandals everyone knows her. She has a ton of connections there. She is one of the top agencies with Sandals. I have referred so many friends to her and we all love working with her. Call her you won't be disappointed. I would never even consider booking on line now that I have worked with Nancy. You get her expertise, and knowledge for the same price or better than booking on line. Good Luck
  • we just booked with Jennifer at VIP.  FABULOUS, SWEET, RESPONSIVE, and better prices than the sandals website.  AWESOME!!!!  Tell her Amy from Dallas sent ya.  :-)
  • I used Kim from Honeymoons Inc.  I think you will find the most popular TA's will give you all you need.I was told that booking through a TA instead of through Sandals does give you more perks because Sandals tries to cater to its TA's.Just an FYI....  TA's cannot "discount" the Sandals rate.  They can offer you the most current rate and if the price drops they can lower it for you.  You may find if you book your airfare through your TA you have lower rates because the TA's can work with airfare but not the Sandals rate.I was quoted by VIP, HI and Liberty and all three prices were exactly the same.  I was then told TA's cannot discount the Sandals price. (something they dont tell you).No matter what - I would go with someone that is a preferred agent like Honeymoons Inc or VIP.  They seem to get the best reviews.
