Day of pampering before the wedding?

Did anyone have a spa day/ day of pampering before the wedding? If so:1) who did you go with?2) where did you go?3) what did you have done?I was thinking of doing this with my mom and sister. Maybe get mani/pedi and a massage. Not sure where to go though. My mom gets massages at her chiropractor from time to time, but I want her to experience the "spa" atmosphere.

I heard Visions Spa in Novi is really nice. I wouldn't suggest getting any kind of mask or facial the day before because you don't know how your skin will react. I have heard of a few girls going to get pampered the day before and ended up getting a rash from the treatment. The last wedding I was in, we all went to get mani's/pedi's. It was fun and relaxing. It was just the BM and the bride's mom.

I was thinking of doing the same thing: mani/pedi/massage with my mom and 2 sisters.  Krystina's European Spa in Beverly Hills is wonderful.  I've sent people to Triccho Salon & Spa at 12 Oaks for massages and heard nothing but wonderful things.

The day of my b-party, a few of my girls are taking me for a massage. The day before the wedding, I'm doing mani's and pedi's with my mom and whoever in the BP can afford it. I don't know where we're going for the massage, one of my BM's set it all up.

I'm pretty sure that I read that you aren't supposed to get a facial w/in the last two weeks (pp).

    1. all BMs and MOH (i did it after work hours so they could all make it) 2. aveda institute in AA - i would only recommend this if you have the time - it took FOREVER but I wanted somewhere with enough chairs so we could all sit together 3. mani/pedi

The plan is mani/pedis with the BMs & family, whoever can afford it, the night before at the nail shop in downtown farmington. I'd rec Visions for a massage or nails, it's just more than my girls are able to spend right now.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on a facial, but thanks for the heads-up!

i went & got my nails & pedi done about 2 days before the wedding at the beauty corner salon in downtown rochester.  i wouldn't recommend anything facial wise, like pp, you don't know how you will react.  i'd also be sure to NOT do a deep tissue massage unless you are used to them because some massages make you really sore afterwards.

Ive heard that a massage the day before the wedding is hardly worth it because you can't relax. Someone who did it told me that but now I dont remember who.  I had a super relaxing weekend this past weekend and now Im ready to take care of all my last minute chores all refreshed. If you're doing it the week of the wedding just make sure you've given yourself enough time to enjoy it!!

I read the same thing about not getting a massage the day b4 b/c you can't relax.  Although my aunt had one the night b4 and fell asleep during.  I guess everyone is different.

I went to the spa with my sister & mom before my b-party (1 week before).  Got the facial, massage, & waxing.  Then, the day before I got a mani/pedi with all the bridesmaids (I just told them where I'd be and whoever wanted to come/was available was welcome).  I was seriously running out of time the last two days before the wedding, so I'm glad I didn't do a whole spa day then.  I wouldn't have been able to appreciate it because I would have been thinking about all the things I needed to get done in the last few hours.

Oh yeah, where did I go?  We actually went to 'Head to Toes' in Oxford.  But I've also gone to Serenity in downtown Northville and really like it there.

I kind of did.  We had out of state family in for 4-5 days, so I couldn't be gone too long!1)  Just my SIL and I went.  I was going to have more go but I thought this would be a good bonding experience since she lives in Virginia Beach and see her 2x a year.  Glad I did too.2)  We went to The Nail Louge in Partridge Creek3)  Just had nails done and a pedicure.  I am allergic to 100 different things, so I was nervous to get a massage because I was picturing the last time I got a seaweed wrap and my body turned bright red...

I'm just planning on the bridal party for mine, and it will most likely just be manis & pedis.  Don't want to ask anyone to spend any more money than they have to. My sister and my friend in FL will be here the night before, but not sure if my cousins will be home from school in time or not - they may have to leave after any Friday classes they may have.  I'll cross that bridge when I get there. We're downriver so we'll probably go someplace like Daybreak Salon & Spa or Sakora Salon, both Aveda salons.

I wouldn't recommend a massage unless it's like 3-4 days before. Expecially if you don't get them that often, when I had my first massage, I was sore the next day, and you don't want to be sore the day of the wedding!

I did a separate trip in the morning by myself to Stephen James Salon in Rochester to get a Salt Body Scrub, it gives your skin an amazing glow and soft feel. After that I met up with my mom and BMs for lunch and then we went to the nail salon to get mani/pedis at Poshe Nail Salon in Troy (Maple between Crooks and Coolidge).I would recommened doing something relaxing, plus it was great to spend that time with the girls!

Visions Spa Salon in Novi is the best.I love the massages! And they have enough room for more than just two people. And your whole BP could have services done at the same time.Serenity in Northville went out of business I believe. But not totally sure.
