So, girls, beware of alterations.  I had no idea they cost that much!$85 to get it taken in$150 for the hem$10/pin for the bustle (which totalled $225)Did I get totally ripped off?  I guess I have the comfort knowing that they are a reputable store and would take responisibility for it - if something didnt turn out right.Should I have taken it somewhere else?  What are your thoughts?

    Where'd you have it done? My last fitting should be Thursday but I haven't asked about price yet.

    mine was i think $190 which was to dart in/alter the bust line, shorten the halter strap and do a 6pt french bustle.  i had mine done thru hana ayer.  personally i think the comfort of knowing it's going to be done right because you are using a store you've already used (or someone you know used), is worth it alone.  alterations can destroy a wedding dress!!

    Cycle#9-Natural BFP 7/9/2010 ~ m/c 7/31/2010 ~ 8/31/10 beta 0.
    Nov/Dec 2011, started seeing RE. HSG-all clear! SA is good! DX = unexplained IF.
    Cycle#25-50mg clomid, IUI#1 = BFP 12/24/11 ~ m/c 1/5/12 ~ 2/21/12 beta level finally 0.
    Cycle#28- 100mg clomid + Ovidrel + IUI#2 = BFN
    Cycle#29- Follistim + Ovidrel + IUI#3 = BFP 5/8/12 ~ betas dropped 5/17/12 ~ Cytotec(fail) D&C (fail) & then a methotrexate shot to get things going ~ 6/28/12 Beta FINALLY 0.
    RPL tests reveal MTHFR mutation(1copy)-adding Folgard & BA and moving forward.
    Cycle#32-Follistim + Ovidrel + IUI#4 = BFP!
    Beta#1 8/21/12: 11, Beta#2 8/23: 71, Beta#3 8/25:174
    9/4-seen sac/yolk, 9/7-9/12 hospitalized for a ruptured cyst causing massive internal bleeding.
    9/11-seen HB!! 9/18- no HB, 9/21/12-D&C. Fetal tissue testing revealed a healthy boy. Now getting more tests to try to figure out this mystery :(

    Where did you go? I think that is probably pretty standard. I was guessing mine would be between $200-300.

    12/2010-hysteroscopy done to remove uterine polyps
    6/2/11=BFP!!!!

    Yeah, I already knew alterations would cost a lot. Of all the bridesmaid dresses I wore to weddings... For a bridesmaid dress, I had the halter strap shortened and it was $20. Not bad. For another bridesmaid dress, it cost me around $80 to get it taken in. For a wedding dress, I don't blame anyone for wanting to charge more, it takes  a lot of work to be extra careful, after all, they don't want to piss a bride off.

    Yeah, my alterations were outrageous!! Any of the bridal salons and main stream places charge a flat fee for each section they are altering,  It's crazy. I was going to try and find a private place in Houston but decided to just stick with the people that knew the dress instead, even if it cost probably 3 x as much.

    SOrry ladies.  I was in meetings all day!  No time for the knot! :(It was Dior.  Thats where I ordered my dress from.  But you all have made me feel tons better about it!  And I really love the lady who is altering my dress!
