Great GR Cake Baker?

Hey ladies,I'm wondering if anyone could send me some recommendations for great cake bakers in the GR area. I have a friend who will be getting married this fall and we're on the hunt for a cake! Any reviews/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.TIA!

I used Shayna with the Sweet Cake Company and she was great. The cake was the second-most reasonably priced I found and was absolutely delish. She has tons of flavors to pick from... it was really difficult deciding which to go with. Anyway, check her out. :)http://www.sweetcakecompany.com/

Bulloca, what flavors did you have? We're going for coconut with lime curd. Holy crap it was so good.

Or another one to look at is Sandy's Donut Shop- They also do cakes, and their cakes are amazing! I HATE cake, but love their cake. The owner Mike is a great guy too. Give them a call- at least to price out a few places. He's easy to work with if you are on a budget too! They are on the West Side of GR, if that helps.

Amoro- We had 1) Pistachio Orange with Orange curd buttercream filling [top anniversary layer and largest bottom layer] 2) White Chocolate with Raspberry buttercream & Raspberry fresh fruit filling 3) Lemon Buttermilk cake with Lime curd buttercream and french vanilla filling .... summer wedding, citrus theme. We used limes on the cake and lemon/lime wedges in centerpiece vases.

Thanks!! We loved that cake. In fact, if you make it to Barb's shop, there's a picture of this cake on her wall. Its one of the first ever designs she did. My husband and I copied it as we had the lemon/lime wedge centerpieces. It just 'worked' so we said we'll take it! I added the pearl dots for good measure :) All the flavors were yummy! I had a small piece of each haha. If I had to pick just one, I would go with the Pistachio Orange cake with the orange buttercream. It sounds crazy but it was so good. It was our wild card at our cake tasting. Barb is so creative!!
