I am hoping that you girls can help give me an idea of what flowers cost. Here is what we will need:My bouquet1 bridesmaid bouquetPossibly 5 boutonnieres (we may decide to only do FI and his best man)10 centerpieces - I want to do low smallish centerpieces with all pink flowersSome flowers for the chuppah5 Small flower vases maybe with one orchid for the cocktail tablesIf the budget allows I would want to do some ceremony flowers but nothing crazyDo you think that this is doable for around $3,000? I would like to have hydrangea, roses, peonies, some orchids and probably some greenery. Thanks in advance!!

Personally I think you could get a lot more for $3000! We are using Florals by Alisa & have my bouquet, 8 BM bouquets, 2 mom poseys, 10 bouts, 20 centerpieces, 2 ceremony arrangements & a few other small displays for under $3000.

You could get that for $1K!! I'm getting 9 bouquets, 14 bouts, three corsages, six huge church pieces, 15 high BIG centerpieces, 15 low BIG centerpieces, head table decor and 5 cut roses in votives at each table for $4k. You could get so much more for $3k!!

You would def. be able to get that for 1-2K. We spent no where NEAR 3K and our type of flowers(stargazers, cybidium orchids) jacked our prices up!

I haven't talked to any florists yet but my mom seems to think that my estimate of $3,000 won't even come close to covering it. To give you an idea of the types of centerpieces, I am including some pictures that I like. I was just afraid that each centerpiece I would want would be like $300 each!

Do not pay $3000 for what you listed. That would be highway robbery. Have you made any appointments with any florists? I would suggest that you tell the florist what you want and not mention your budget. Let them tell you how much they would charge. If you say you can spend $3000 and you give your list, someone may overcharge you just because you said you would pay $3k..

I have not met with any florists or made any appointments. I was more asking because $3,000 is about what we have budgeted and I want to make sure that it was doable for $3K. Clearly I have no idea how much flowers cost! If we don't have to spend that much GREAT because then we can do some other things. I will take your advice and not mention budget!

My dear with 3gs you could definitely have ceremony flowers and get the 5 bouts as well as an upgrade to bigger and better centerpieces. I think you have very good options with florists in R.I or Southeastern Mass, very competitive in terms of pricing. jeff and co, Twigs, Flowers by Alisa, Flowergirls in Warwick are to name a few. Floral Designs by Gigi has petite packages for $500 (not including centerpieces) http://www.gigisfloraldesigns.com/PetiteWeddingPackages.html

I think you could do all that for around $1K too. Bridal bouquets are around $150, and BM bouquets are under $100. Bouts are around $7-$15 each (usually $10). Centerpieces can be as extravagant as you want. The smaller vases would be in the $20 range. Not sure if you have moms/grandmothers, but they typically get a corsage. Those are $15-$20. We aren't doing anything in the church but we are getting wreaths for the doors for $85ea. HTH.

I did also forget that we will probably want some rose petals for the aisle and some loose flowers for the cake. I don't think that we are going to do flowers for our moms/grandmas. Neither one of our moms want them and the reason we wouldn't do bouts for our dads is because we don't think they want them either. I actually don't want to do bigger/better centerpieces. I'm getting married at Belle Mer and I really like the sheek simplicity of the place so I don't want to muddy it up too much with a lot of decor. Thank you so much though for giving me some perspective on pricing. Does anyone have experience with Toni Chandler and how her pricing compares? What about Jay at Golden Gate? Also, we will need to rent a Chuppah. If anyone has an idea how much those run (again we would want simple) or any pictures of good ones they have rented in RI I would greatly appreciate it!!

Toni Chandler does amazing work but on the pricey side. And Golden Gate always gets raves on here. If you want unique and creative than Toni Chandler is a better choice. In terms of pricing Golden Gate is fairly inexpensive. According to the Knot, Chattybrides, knot brides' reviews and my personal experience I came up with a pricing chart. $$$$ - Toni Chandler, Flowers by Semia, Sayles Livingston, Stoneblossom, nancy birch of grandifloral, Bellevue Florist$$$ - Studio 539, Frey Florist, Conceptional Image and Designs, Blooming Blossoms, Laural Lane, Check the Florist, Lilacs, The Tangled Web$$ - Golden Gate, Twigs, Florals by Alisa, Flowergirls, Jeff & Co, Colors Floral Design, GiGi's Floral Design, Vine & Vessal

Anyone know where Sayles Livingston falls in that $$$$ chart range? She is recommended by my venue but, just looking at her site, I feel like she's out of my range. Thanks!

Almeida's Floral Design in Fall River. I showed her a picture of my inspiration, and she created an amazing trial 12 months in advance, just so I could be sure she understood. She's super creative and give you more bang for her buck. There are two main florists, they both speak fluent portuguese and their english is great, but they have cute little accents.

Sayles Livingston is $$$$ along with Toni Chandler and Flowers by Semia to name a few but her work is absolutely beautiful. I think they are all talented but in this price brackett Toni Chandler takes the cake for creativity. I never see the same work with her.

I used Nancy Birch www.grandifloradesign.com. She does beautiful work and we paid less than that for my flowers, 3 bm, 4 bout, 3 moms, a grandmother, 17 centerpieces and then two tall arrangments for the ceremony.

chixfila - her website looks great! It sounds like you had a lot more flowers than I would too so that's good news for me.

I think its doeable but it really depends on which florist you choose. Your flower choices don't sound expensive. Also, you might want to consider purchasing rose petals online -- I found it was much cheaper then going through a florist. In the end, I bought freeze dried as we would be leaving our house a day or two before they would have delivered the fresh ones.

My advice is to be up front about your budget. Most florists are willing to work with you.

It truly depends on the florist. Any florist is afforadable with the right blooms... We used Florals by Alisa and got a ton for money but we did spend over $4K. It all depends.I would make appointments and compare & contrast. We met with 7-8 florists and it was crazy to see the difference in pricing on each for the exact same florals!

It really depends on who you go to, but I definitely think you can get that for $3k. The only RI florist I met with was going to charge us around $3500 for essentially what you listed (2 ceremony arrangements instead of a chuppah and a couple more BM bouquets). We ended up spending around $3200 and that included petals for the aisle (around $250). I didn't use any orchids, which I've been told are really expensive. Also, peonies might be on their way out for your wedding, so that's an additional cost. My florist was able to get them in magenta for my wedding (7/11), but that's it.

Lucy - is the picture in your signature from your wedding? If so, your flowers look beautiful. Which florist did you meet with in RI?

Thanks! That is my wedding. I met with Stoneblossom and wasn't too impressed. They do beautiful work, but they seemed a lot more interested in money than flowers. My budget was around $3k and that seemed to be an issue for them. Stoneblossom also charges a 20% delivery fee (25% to go to CT) and that seemed outrageous. My wedding was in N. Stonington, CT, so we ended up going with Hana Floral out of Mystic.

I used Toni Chandler (who is amazing). She did my whole wedding (my boquet, three BM's boquets, 13 ceterpieces, 2 mother boquets, 2 boutenieres, and very simple ceremony flowes) for 2K. I also met with Golden Gate. I found their prices to be about the same but I liked Toni's work better. The day of my wedding, the flowers took my breath away.
