Comfort vs Style

OK, ladies we are talking shoes. I had been planning for a shorter dress so I assumed the shoes were going to be an important part since everyone would see them. However, with these long dresses and trains, etc I take it you really don't see the shoes, right? I want to be comfortable and as I expect to do a lot of walking and I normally do not wear heels. I was in the mall last night and saw a pair of Mary Jane skechers. They were white and had lace accents - really cute AND comfortable.     I wore a pair of 1 1/2 inch heels for the ceremony and I got a pair of white Skechers with satin and silver flecks in them for the strip tour and the rest of the day.  I took off the heels right after the chapel photos and put on the Skechers.  It was one of the best decisions I made.  I can't imagine walking all over the way we did in heels even though they were only 1 1/2 inches the Skechers were sooooo much more comfy.

    I went with style.  A pair of 3inch Red High Heels.  I loved them and still do.  But I was the first person to take my shoes off after the ceremony.  My feet really paid the price.  I would not have changed a thing because the photo's with my red shoes are some of my fave.  But I would say go with heels maybe for photos then switch and be comfortable.  Those are really cute.

    I'm wearing an awesome pair of black peep toe heels for the ceremony, pics right after and probably as long as I can. After that I'm thinking of buying a pair of fuzzy flip-flops to walk around the strip in.  The only time your shoes will shoe is when you're pictures taken and you do those dip poses or something to that effect.

    For those who have changed shoes did the heel height difference effect your dress length? Were you tripping when you put on flats? They make the dress for your specific shoe height, right?

    Marilyn good question! Def. did not think of that. Hmmmm...well my dress isn't too heavy so I don't think holding it up will be that big of a deal. Maybe I'll brind that up at my fitting next month.

    Comfort all the freaking way, but I do need heels so that I don't have to hem the dress, and because FI is so much taller than me.  I'm actually looking into ballroom shoes because they're much more supportive, but can still be quite cute.
    This is a neglected planning bio.
    This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

    My photog specifically mentioned that I should change shoes for the strip tour...i've bought slip ons with a heel because i was worried about the height as well. sounds like my dress will get dirty no ifs ands and buts about it.

    Yes my dress was hemmed for my shoes.  But my dress still got really dirty during the strip tour.  Plus during the reception I never tripped over my dress.  It was fine the whole time.  Even when we went down to the casino for the after party.
