I hate my bustle :(

So i had my fitting for my dress yesterday. Long story short- took some photos while we were there got home and was "inspecting" the dress and I hateeeeeee my bustle :( Im going to give this lady another shot to correct it, but I dont think it will go well. Do you guys know of anyone in the annapolis area that does a good job? Thanks!

What's wrong with the bustle? Did she do a crappy job, or its just not the style you wanted? Pics? Maybe at your next fitting you could bring her a picture of what your bustle *should* look like and hopefully she can recreate it?

I hated my bustle too, the lady thought I was crazy for changing it, but in the end I was happy

Tanya, did you ask for something else and she didn't deliver? Have you told her precisely what you'd like? Your bustle is precisely what they wanted to do with my dress and I told them no because I didn't care for it - I did a 6 point instead and I was happy.Do you have something in mind that you want? If so, I'd take a photo and say exactly what you have in mind. THEN if she doesn't deliver, take it somewhere else.Unless, of course, you've done all that already and she still isn't doing what you've asked.

I wanted a 5pt over bustle like shes done, i just think its poor quality. The dress lays funny both front and back. Its pulled up higher on the right than on the left. You can see some of the lining etc on the right. This is the 2nd attempt at the bustle. I wont even go into the ordeal with first attempt. I didnt get photos of it since it was so horrible. maybe i have the wrong type of bustle for this dress?? this is from the designers webpage - This is the front

If that's what it looks like from the front, she has definitely done something wrong. A good seamstress would be able to tell you if some type of bustle wouldn't work for that type of dress. My seamstress tried a couple different things with mine before finding one that hung right.I think, either you could go back to her and ask her to fix the uneven-ness...or take it somewhere else. I think I'd try another seamstress really, b/c if this woman thinks that is acceptable work, that is not good.

yes...if that picture is your dress from the front as it is bustled it needs to be fixed...It should still look straight in the front. I feel like that all you need is a one point bustle...my sister had this and I feel like the design was very similar. Want me to find pictures of that, do you have an email.

I don't have a picture of my dress, but I have the inspiration picture I used. It's also called a French bustle. Here's the pic, hon:http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3142/2828780170_389f55f49e.jpg

Check with Diana Adams. She often takes "emergency" last minute alterations. She might be kind of far from you, but it might be worth a try. You could email her pics of your current bustle.

I used Yolanda Voss as my seamstress, http://www.yolandavoss.com/. She was more than I expected to pay but she did a GREAT job. She also did my co-workers dress who got married the weekend before me and loved the end result but thought the same thing... she was pricey but good work.

Aw.....I like FIA's french bustle inspiration picture, nice. Here's another one, it has the dipped waistband similar to yours. isabel Donnelly is pricey and in Ellicott City but she works wonders. Let me know if you want her contact info.

thanks girl! im breathing a bit better now.

Like the others have said, the front of your dress absolutely shouldn't look like that - I'm scared by the fact that your seamstress thinks that's okay. Definitely start calling the others suggested here - you need to get your dress into better, more skilled hands. The shot from the back doesn't look like a five-point bustle to me at ALL. It looks like a single point pulled up to the bottom of the dip in the back. It's very bulky and cumbersome, it seems, and I can't fathom where the other points are if they're buried under there.

I am sorry honey! I would defly take it to another seamstress ASAP bc like ppl have said the front of your dress should NOT look like it does. GL!

I feel like I see the problem...from the back picture, it looks the middle is picked up, but a couple inches to the each side, it's pinned up there too and on the right side (looking at the picture) you can see the crinoline...that's why i think just the single point would be fine...
