so, i'm getting married in june and was curious when was a good time to start going to places and register?? i've been looking now but how early is too early?

    We did ours 6 months before, and didn't have anything discontinued. Our taste is pretty classic, so nothing was discontinued. You don't need it until the shower invites go out, but if you want to do it now and then update it then, that's fine.

    I'm getting married in May and I just finished my registry, but my birthday is also next month and xmas is coming. If anyone asks what I want I plan to just say something off the registry would be great.

    I admit that I'm the odd one out. I started mine 12 months before our wedding. I wasn't planning on telling anyone that it was around, but amazingly people were already asking.  I originally set it up just to get a good idea of the things that we would need in our new life together.p.s. I recommend MyRegistry.com.  It makes registering at several different places much easier.

    If you're ready now, it's fine to register now. We registered a little less than a year before the wedding for the traditional things like china and crystal that wouldn't be discontinued seasonally, and then added other items later on. We received a few things from our registry from family for engagement gifts, as well as at Christmas so I'm glad we didn't wait until right before the wedding to register. But if you're not ready to do it now, the earliest you really should register is before your shower invitations are sent out.

    I don't think it really matters. Just watch if you register online. Target requires that you log in and add gifts every 90 days or they close out your registry. I just did my registries about 5 months ago and I am getting married October 10
