Engagement Party Thank You's

I am having a hard time finding stationary to write thank you notes on for gifts given to my FI and I at our engagement party. I initially was going to have cards made with both of our first initials, but- the card store told me that was a no-go. I want the cards to look nice- but don't want to spend $2.50 a card. What did you do? Where did you purchase? TIA- I appreciate it!

They have cheap packs of basic thank you notes at Target!  I've been using those for all the wedding related thank you notes I've been writing :)

If I were a guest at your engagement party, I would prefer a prompt and heartfelt thank you note...as opposed to one that was written on fancy, custom made stationary. Even my wedding thank you notes will be inexpensive packaged thank you notes from Target.  I don't see a reason to go overboard on paper products. My advice would just be to get some cute/nice/pretty thank you notes from any card store.

Thanks guys. Just walked to the Tattered Cover at lunch and got a nice box. I appreciate the advice.

I'm really surprised that the place you went to said they wouldn't do the double initials for you. I think any nice card with or without thank you written on it will suffice, but to hear that you got turned down for a custom order is very odd! If you have your heart set on the two initials, you can always plan ahead for wedding thank yous!

They didn't turn me down- they just said that it is poor etiquette to put both of your first initials (no last initials) on a card prior to marriage. I thought it was weird- because the thank you will be coming from both of us, for a gift given to both of us. Oh well, I saved some $$ this time!

Some people need to realize that this is a new era and sometimes ettiquette is not followed (more so, actually). What a silly thing to say to a prospective client! Glad you are happy with what you decided, that's all that counts! :o)
