Rehearsal dinner invitations?

Are rehearsal dinner invitations necessary if only the bridal party, their guests and our parents are coming? Would an e-vite do for this event or is that cheap? If so, do I really have to order these invitations or could I just buy some cute, inexpensive ones?

    No, you don't need written invitations. We just sent out an email or did phone calls (in the case of grandparents without email) as our 'invitation'. An Evite would be perfect, if you have email addresses for everyone. Or, if you wanted to send out actual invites, there's certainly no need to order custom ones like for the wedding itself.
