A while ago, I posted about the bridesmaid's dress I have to wear for my FSIL's wedding.  She didn't take any bridesmaid's shopping with her to pick a dress.  She simply went to an Indian attire store and picked a dress from a catalogue and had them made to order in India.  

My problems about this were:
1. The dresses are just ugly in general
2. They are in a terrible style that won't look good on any bridesmaid
3. She should have taken at least one of us shopping with her
4. The style will not fit me correctly because of my scoliosis and will need to be completely taken apart and put back together to fit me correctly

The dresses were suppose to be ready by FSIL's bridal shower over Labor Day weekend but they weren't in from India yet.  She just got them in on Sunday and was suppose to mail it to me but... she went to put one on her FI's daughter and the dress was cut completely wrong so that it wouldn't fit over the head (apparently there's no zipper either?).  

Now she wants to send it back and get new ones made.  I practically had to beg FSIL to just send me the damn dress so that I can have my tailor deal with it.  I don't have time to wait for another dress and still get it remade to fit my back.  And that's where I am now.  God I wish she would just send me the damn, ugly dress!

    Y didnt she ask someone to go ? Im not liking FSIL. sorry..even tho this is her wedding she still should have asked for you guys OP's. I hop she sends you the dress.

    OMG! Her wedding's in just a couple weeks right?

    I'm sure you won't be the only one with dress problems and because of this girl's selfishness, you're all gonna be stressing out.

    Saltzman:  It's in 8 weeks, which considering that it took the place in India 3 months to make the original dress, I really doubt they could make a correct dress, send it here, have her send it to me, and have me get it altered in time.  FSIL seems to think that this would be totally possible.  My reaction was "and what if the second dress is wrong too?"  Then we have no time to get something else.  I think that means I get to wear my own dress... right? Wink

    You should take a picture of yourself in the dress before alterations and send it in to the Ellen Degeneres show!

    LOL I don't want a picture of myself in the dress!  Here's the pic she sent me of my dress- it's folded.





    The dress style is fitted through the body and waist and A-line to the mid calf with pants underneath.

    There are such beautiful Indian outfits in the world- why these?!  I'd like to add that that detailing you see in the picture is ALL OVER the dress.

    You know sometimes I have to come back just to read what your FSIL is up to now (and I still love to see where you ladies are at in your planning).

    I hope she realizes she needs to send it to you. 8 more weeks and all of this will finally be over for you.

    So its a dress..with pants??
