Did you register for Fine China?

I can't make up my mind on whether I should register for fine china, casual dishes or both. I would love to have "Lenox-Chirp" fine china. However, my grandmother will be giving (leaving) me two of her sets of fine china. So it kind of seems ridiculous to have that many sets of fine china. Plus, we would hardly use it so that's why I'm thinking that it would be more practical to ask for some casual dinnerware from Target, maybe 8-12 place settings. Your ideas? and what are you doing?

We registered for both and they were some of the gifts that were first purchased for us from our registry (I was a stalker...). If I was already getting china from a relative though I probably wouldn't have registered for a new set for myself. I noticed when I registered there were lots of "nice" every day dinnerware options. For our everyday we went with a durable white porcelin set from C&B, it's easy to dress up and dress down.

we registered for fine china. I have always wanted nice china and did not have any. But we also like to have dinner parties so they will get used. If I did not think I would actually use them I would not get them. It really takes up a lot of space.

We registered for fine china and everyday dishes. We like to host dinner parties and when we get a bigger place we plan on hosting our family holiday dinners so we'll get use out of them.

We registered for fine china as well as everyday dishware. We received ten of the twelve sets of china ($100 each). We didn't buy the other two. But our dishware wasn't too cheap either and we got all of that ($360 for all 12 sets). We like to host dinners though and enjoy cooking alot so we put a lot of focus on our kitchen things. Neither side of our families has china so it was not something we were going to inherit.

We registered for both. Originally we were just going to have everyday dishes but a few of my coworkers hounded me until I registered for china. And I'm glad I did. We use it all the time, we love it, and I never would've bought it for myself.

nope. we won't use it. mom will give me hers, and i wont use that either but at least it will look nice on display somewhere.

We actually registered for every day China - a mix of the Nag's Head and Pinney Beach patterns by Kate Spade. It is beautiful and will be perfect for special occassions, but is dishwasher and microwave safe, so we can use them every day.

I did not register for china because I am going to inherit my grandmothers. However, I think Lenox Simply Fine is a good double duty pattern. I have the salad plates and mix them in with my Mikasa French Countryside for everyday.

I did not register because of my friends who have got married and did request china, they ended up with an incomplete set. Then you either have to spend the money to complete a set, settle with what you get, or return them. I already have so multiple sets of nice everyday dishes so it wasn't a priority.
