Fitness Boot Camp...

Has anyone ever done a fitness boot camp before?  My college is doing a 6 week long, 4 day a week, 1 hour each session boot camp.  My friends are trying to talk me into joining, but I'm a bit scared.  I've only just started running again, and I'm worried that this might push me too hard.  I used to do 2 hour swim workouts that included weights, running, and (obviously) swimming about 8 months ago, but I've really fallen out of a good workout routine.Any thoughts/advice?

I did the Tarrant County Boot Camp and it was great (besides waking up so d@mn early in the mornings lol)The instructor had 2 one on one meetings with each person...one in the beginning to establish where you are right now and to give advice and answer questions and one at the end where she did another fitness evaluation and let you know how you did over the course of the camp(which was 4 weeks)She was also good at pushing us but not pushing us too hard because we were all at different stages of our fitness training. If we had injuries or concerns she was really good about giving us alternatives or just being understanding.Just know that every camp will differ bc of the instructor...I would see if you can find other students that did it and get their feedback on the instructor and the course.

When I was in college, I did our bootcamp.  3 times a week for 6 weeks.  It was awesome.  Totally worth it.

I did 3 weeks out of a 6 week bootcamp (long story--but the gist is it ran into finals and I was staying up until 2 and attempting to get up at 5:30)It was good--if you've been active in the last year, I think you will be okay. Some of the moms who hadn't worked out in years had a hard time, but they were able to do it. I liked it, but I wouldn't do it again for 3 reasons:1. The food plan was disgusting, and they made you follow it or else...I'm all for eating healthy, but they made it very bland, and there was little you could do to spice it up, or account for special events like birthdays, etc.2. It was at 5:30 in the morning, and it was COLD!3. Instead of free weights, we used milk jugs half filled with sand. They insisted the instability added to the workout, but it really just seemed like a great way to get injured. Obviously not everyone should be doing the same amount of weight for the same amount of reps...Overall, I think it can be a good experience, but it depends on the boot camp. The one I went to could have done more with the food plan and been more willing to adjust exercises to account for injuries, etc. and I would have liked it better. You'll get results, no matter what, though!
