Wedding Dress Advice

I need help/advice about what to do with a wedding dress I currently have a deposit on at a bridal salon but no longer want--found another BETTER dress that I love!  I'm afraid the store is going to make me pay the full purchase price of the dress, but I paid a depoist of 1/2 the cost & it's been less than 30 days since signing the contract.  Should the shop be willing to keep my deposit & the dress, letting me out of the purchase?  I don't care if I lose my deposit, but I don't want to pay the remaining balance to purchase a dress I'm not going to wear!  I'm afraid it will take FOREVER to sell the dress on my own.  How do I go about trying to negotiate this?  So upset that I let myself get caught up in the dress trying-on & made a bad decision.

    I don't work at the store, so I can't tell you their policy.

    I can tell you that you should have stopped looking after you found the dress you bought. There will ALWAYS be a prettier dress out there. Just be satisfied with what you have.

    You should read your contract and see what the fine print says.  You should call the shop immediately to see if there's anything that can be done.  If you have to take the dress - you might want to look into selling it on oncewed or a similar site in order to at least recoup some of your money. 

    PP is right though, once you buy a dress you stop looking or you are bound to find yourself in a bad situation.
