I should preface this. This is a blog written by a woman in Maine. Their family of 4 (with a 3rd child coming any day now) lives off $1000 per month total.

I saw P&E tearing her apart a few days ago... I only read a few posts--some of it is definitely weird (eating placenta--eww!) and a little overboard, but I didn't agree with the other board that her children were being abused and CPS should get involved...

Wow... so I actually kind of respect this sort of.   At least from what I can tell, it sounds like they are finding a way to be happy living within their means...and not depending on the government to survive.

She posted a couple of days ago that their living arrangement is only illegal if the landlord doesn't approve. They choose to live this way. They have been offered $400 in food stamps monthly, but refuse the help. If you go back and look at the recipes for the family meals, it is hard to believe that the children are meeting nutrition requirements, but this woman does her research, so perhaps they are. It's still flippin' weird. Especially when she talks about their plans for the "tiny house."

Yeah, I did notice that she seems pretty set on the lifestyle, whether or not they have the means to improve it. To each their own I guess?

Yeah the tiny house is weird.   I'm very skeptical of the need for her to blog this. Since she boasts that her family is so "frugal", the internet and blogging seems like it would be an expense considered un-necessary.Seems like she is fishing for media attention.

There are ads on her blog, too.  Betcha she gets paid for those.
