Our wedding was on Sept 19 and was a total blast! I have been impatiently waiting (stalking the photographers blog) for pictures because so much of it was a blur. Ceremony: South MacArthur Church of Christ- A: My hubby’s family have been members here for many years so it was special to be able to have our wedding where their family has basically grown up. They have a huge auditorium, but we used a smaller side chapel. The Bride’s room was TINY, but it worked. The day of coordinator and music people provided through the church were awesome and so nice to work with. Reception: Maggiano’s Northpark- A++: I worked with Dustin in Catering and he was so helpful throughout the whole process. He helped us with menus, and was willing to set up the candy buffet and all of the extra tables that we needed. The food was really good and the service was top notch. The event rooms upstairs were beautiful and perfect for our reception. The stairway and piano in the reception area made for some good photos. Cakes: Frosted Art- A++++: Seriously, our cakes were delicious and I loved how they looked. The Groom’s cake was so much more unique and special than I thought it would be, they really went all out and did some extra special stuff with the band logo my hubby wanted to incorporate. They were on time and their prices were better than the other three places I got quotes from. I can’t wait to have another occasion to get a cake from them! There were tons of leftovers. Rings: Jarred (Valley View)- A: We got our wedding bands from Jarred a few days before the wedding and I really liked the girl that helped us. I was going to just get a plain band, but she showed me one with diamonds that went really well with my engagement ring, and the price was within our budget. Hubby says they email him a lot now though, like every other day. Photography: Tyler R Brown- A++++++: Tyler and his assistant were awesome to work with. They were on time (I was not, however) and were so much fun and willing to do whatever crazy shots we came up with. I think the photos turned out fantastic, especially for what we paid. I will use them for whatever family photos we need going forward, and am thinking about doing a TTD with them. I could not be more pleased. Photos here:

Hair and makeup: Pure Salon, Las Colinas- A-: I loved my hair and makeup, they just took a lot longer to do than the stylist thought they would so I missed a lot of my pre-ceremony picture time. I really liked my stylist Lindsey and would use her again for up-dos for sure, I would just build in more time for sure. The salon itself was really nice and is an Aveda salon, so they have a lot of interesting products to offer and brought me wine and water during my appointment. Candy for the Candy Buffet: Oriental Trading Company- C: The first shipment they sent never arrived, and even though they provided a shipping number for UPS, it did me no good because they have an arrangement with the USPS and UPS delivered to them and that’s when tracking capabilities are lost. They did resend the order, but I was nervous because it came 3 days before the wedding. It was all fine and the candy worked out well, but the whole paying for UPS to deliver to USPS didn’t thrill me. I now get catalogs from Oriental TC constantly in the mail. This displeases me. I also received a bill for the second shipment, which I have yet to address. Honeymoon: Orbitz.com- A: We booked a little over a week in London through Orbitz.com after mucho research. Everything went as planned and the apartment we booked was perfect, and the direct flights were really great. Flowers were done by family friends, as was the DJ. All in all it was so much fun and I think our guests had a blast! I am glad it is over with though J
