Flowers

What colors and kinds are you having?Anything special being flown in? Post a pic if you're having anything unusual that we wouldn't know what it is.

I am having tulips. I think mainly orange and pink ones. Possibly more colors on the tables.

the only flowers i did from the florist were church baskets for the alter and mine and my girls.  I let the venue handle my centerpieces b/c it was included in the package and my dream centerpieces woudl have cost me a fortune and i couldnt bring myself to do it.

Tulips! My favorite flower and the first flower my fiance ever gave me.

I have not decided on colors yet. I love white ones but the multi colored ones are gorgeous too

i wanted tulips and lilacs, but they will be out of season and I'm cheaping out on flowers.  I'm only using local, in season blooms.

purple and lavender for BM bouquets and centerpieces: hydrangea, roses, lisanthius, anemone, statice and caspia

my bouquet white/ivory peonies, hydrangea, roses, and some lavender caspia and lisanthius for a small splash of color.

My guy is not a lover of flowers, so we may go easy on flowers a bit.

My favorite author, Edith Wharton, actually carried a book down the aisle when she got married instead of flowers....I'm not going to go that far... :-) We WILL have bouquets, etc.

But I do want to be really creative about the centerpieces and any other decor.

Although he doesn't love flowers, he does love candles. I was thinking of doing pillar candles in a big U-shaped glass vase, filled half with water, and a few flowers or even just petals sprinkled in.  Then maybe a couple tall tapers also on tables for height.

But it's too early for this for me yet, as we don't have a venue. Going to see patriot hills and NYCC tomorrow! Fingers crossed.

Kinda for everything I really want tiger lillies (or at least in theory I do) but they aren't in season for my wedding.  I'd probably mix them with other lilies.  However for my personal bouquet I want kaleidoscope orchids.

JeFlanigan, be careful with lillies, by the time we were taking pictures after the ceremony at my sister's wedding, the lillies were starting to droop big time.  They do not last very long at all.

Kmangiamele... thanks for the warning.  I know they wilt quickly, and by September aeen't even really around.  But its the color and general look I want.  I might have to talk to a florist about a better alternative to get the look.

We kept it simple and went with roses. I had white roses. The bridesmaids should have had a mix of red and black magic, but only got red. Flower girl petals were a mix of red and white.

For the reception, red glass vases with red roses. Some pictures in my bio! (It's a start. I will keep adding to it throughout the summer.)
