3rd Dress Shopping Experience

On Friday my mom and I went to Lewisville Bridal Boutique. The shop was smaller than I expected, at the same time it had more gowns that the other shops had that I'd previously gone to. I tried on about 6 dresses all out of my price range. But let me say my budget was unrealistic to begin with for a dress. I did find THE dress and it is WAY over my budget. But I am determined to find it cheaper somewhere else. I would highly recommend this shop for these reasons:*They have larger sizes. I am a street/curvy 14. It felt good being able to actually zip a dress in the back instead of holding up to me. I did see some dresses in a size 26.*Upstairs are the sample dresses that are discontinued. There are as many upstairs as there are downstairs and they are half off the ticketed price.*There is another store 5 doors down that they own that has even more discontinued dresses for half price. There are also flower girl dresses/baskets, bridesmaid dresses, and tons of prom dresses.*Large variety of designers.

    Are you looking for a specific designer?  Can I ask what your budget is?  When all was said and done, we spent $900 on my dress and veil at Mii's in Casa Linda.  They have some very nice dresses.  I don't know if they have Maggie's but they're very helpful and they have larger sizes.

    There are several places online where you can order your dress at a much lower cost from what I hear. Maybe someone can give you some help with it. Also, another way to "stretch" your dress budget is to find one that would need minimal alterations, wouldn't need a petticoat/slip underneath, or a special bra. Those items will run well over $100 And definitely check Ebay or Etsy for tiaras or veils. They are way cheaper.

    That's where I got my dressed and I was very pleased with my experience!  I was expecting it to be more spacious, but they did have a good selection to choose from.
