Not Engaged Yet

Oh, Facebook, my fickle friend.

"So I have decided friends who don't ever make time to see me lately are not invited to my wedding. Less invites to send!"

--a girl from my high school, in her latest status update.

And of course all these people are commenting with things like "uhh, I hope this doesn't mean me..."

We haven't kept in touch and weren't close to begin with. I should probs unfriend her...

What odd/funny/whooaaaa moments have you experienced on the FB lately?

    (Hehe...)

    "

(Buwahaha...Why don't you confront who is upseting you instead of putting out some vague hatred into the world?)

    "
My goal in Vegas this weekend is to see how many times I can get married. After all only the first one count. ;-)"
    (Okay...I've got weird friends)

    "
I wanna say something. I'm gonna put it out there. If you like it, you can take it. If you don't, send it right back. I want to be on you."

I used to have a friend that constantly posted updates on her pregnancy and called her DD her princess. Towards the end of her pregnancy she talked about how dilated and effaced she was. I deleted her before she could start with the poop stuff.

I have resisted the urge to post about poop - as much as it takes over your life I don't want to hear about other people's kids poop so I figure people don't want to hear about DD's poop.

I have a "friend" on FB whose profile is hers and her husband's.  Last week, FB was telling everyone it was her birthday and people were posting happy birthday messages.  She posted that it wasn't her birthday, it was her and her H's anniversary.  So then people started posting happy anniversary messages.

Her H came on and posted something like, "Can everyone please stop telling us happy anniversary?!?!  It's not happy!  This is the 2nd anniversary I've spent away from my wife."

Wow.  How dare anyone congratulate you!  I'm sorry that you are in the military and not in the same state as your wife (he's NOT deployed, so not sure why they're not in the same state), but geeze, that is just RUDE!!

ETA: I just tried to find the exact post and she's not on my friends list anymore!  Hahaha.  That's FINE with me!

Most recently there is a friend who recently found out she is pregnant her family decided she needs to marry the guy. It seems forced and the wedding is next month and she has Facebook posts and notes asking for only money and diapers from her guests. Not to be mean but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a shotgun wedding. She lives at home with her grandparents - dosent work but is " so excited " that her fiancé skips work to do things for her. Kinda makes me facepalm but it's kind of a trainwreck I can't look away from.

This. It's also really annoying when people immediately post pictures of their pretty normal looking stomach and feel the need to put "Me at 7 weeks", or "OMG my stomach is getting HUGE"... at 7 weeks? Give me a break.

Most common thing for girls I used to be friends with was being 2 months pregnant and saying "OMG, I wish [child] would hurry up and get here!"

I hated getting 'Get enough sleep now! You'll miss it once the baby comes' when I was 7 1/2 months along. It was next to impossible to stay comfortable and I woke up 3 times a night to readjust. I just wanted to tell those people to fvck off.

Oh yes I got tons of them. I was told by my GMIL that I shouldn't lift my arms above my head because the cord would wrap around the baby's neck. And she constantly showed me pictures of cute babies because then I would have a cute baby. Oh and people kept telling me that the ultrasound could be wrong and it might be a boy. I had 4 ultrasounds since the gender one - I was pretty damn sure it was a girl.

The heartburn one was true for me - Faye was born with a lot hair and I had horrible heartburn.
