Hi Vay and welcome!so where is your reception? what area and what type of budget? Indoors, outdoors? Loved Kay Kay's invitation suite, I am using alex Tembow as well.photography:My photographer Amy Boeve -amyboevephotography.comShe lives in Grand Rapids, but she travels to Detroit for free..alot. So she can you do e-pics for you in GR (which is included in her package) and then shoot your wedding and reception here.Flowers: If you are comfy with this idea and on a budget you can get all your flowers from costco/sams (mostly roses or calla lillies) for under $250If you are looking for variety of floral arrangements and prefer a very AFFORDABLE florist, a few of us strongly suggest florist that work out of their home. I'm paying under $1,000 for:My bouquet8BM bouq8GM bouts26 centerpieces2 ceremony arrangementsflowers for moms', ushers and hostessesMain flowers to be used: Hydrangea, roses, orchids.2 people who are rec'd on here now of days are:April Oboza -  aprilirelynndsg@yahoo.com (my florists lady and a few others)Michelle Nonis - michelenonis@aol.comSince I have been on the knot these girls have helped me with their rec's for 90% of my vendors and I gurantee I am getting my bang for my buck! I could not have gotten these types of amazing vendors without these girls so I would love to help you feel the same way! good Luck!

Welcome and congrats!  I did the opposite of you - I'm originally from GR and had the wedding there, but live in Detroit now - so I planned from across the state as well! Can you give us your budget for each of the vendors above that you need help with?  This will be extremely helpful and will make sure we recommend vendors in your price range!!

My wedding date is in July 2010 (hasn't officially been set yet as I'm waiting to see when my favorite reception site and ceremony site are available on the same day), and I've been looking for the last month and still finding lots of availability for 2010 out there.  What is the area you're looking to have your ceremony in?  I'm sure there is something out there for you!

Sorry Ladies! And thank you for your responses...OK so my reception is in Detroit @ the St. Maron Hall.. I choose this venue due to very budget friendly and I was able to bring outside catering and provide my own liquor.  My sister's wedding was there in August and it turned out beautiful.  But the location is on the east side of Detroit.  I have contacted a few ppl for decor but have not finalized anything... I did however, speak with JLB and believe were going to book with him.  My co-worker had photos done and they were beautiful and the album was even better.  I don't want to spend more than $750 for the ceremony location due to other budget factors. I have tried churches in the area but no luck there.  I have my total budget set for around $7500 but not sure if we'll make it.But things I need help with are...1. Reception decor e.g. uplighting, rentals, linens, etc.2. Ceremony Site.. I almost booked St. Andrews not realizing it was the club spot. (lol)3. Travel Agent (Honeymoon Suggestions) any will do...4. Wedding Coordinator (Dependable) I guess that's it for now...Breathe...Again thanks for all your responses.P.S. If anyone sees Kay-Kay I want to know how she put her invites together...

Wow, you are hosting a huge wedding…almost the same as me. Below I have listed places that are    affordable and might keep you close to your budget, however I think you might blow that bad boy   especially when trying to accommodate 200-250 guest.. J   OMG! I love Sweet Kakes, LLC. Linda is so sweet. We attend the same church. She is my baker. Trust me..her cakes taste amazing and the shop is not too far from your venue.   Ceremony – What about the Conservatory (Belle) The garden?? Its 10 minutes away from your venue   Travel Agent – I don’t have a suggestion for this, I am booking my own honeymoon.   Wedding Coordinator – A Beautiful Day - abeautifuldayevents@yahoo.com   Jewelry – you can get just about anywhere, especially small bridal boutiques for $10 for earrings and necklace.   Liquor – Canada/Detroit border Duty Free   Shoes – zappos.com, Village Shoe Inn (You can get shoes just about anywhere)   Linens – www.sposaseating.com or www.stephaniesweddingcreations.com   Catering – CJ’s Catering Service -248-615-9254 $5/pp including juice or pops (Trust me, the deal is awesome and the food is great)
