What's your WR splurge?

I am trying to talk myself out of buying Swarovski toasting flutes. They retail for $390, I found them for $325, then $280 - maybe by the wedding I can get them for $19.95. lol What is everyone else's big splurge for your wedding?

Re: What's your WR splurge?

  • I feel like I have many splurges that I justify to myself is because I am having small wedding.  My flip flops for the ceremony cost waay too much and my Swarovski cake topper was waaay to much.  I am not a DIY kina gal so I am stimulating the economy.

  • I have had many splurges too.  I just spent close to $200 on personalized napkins for the resort and the AHR for example..feel kinda guilty about that one.  My towels for the OOT bags too-had them personalized and spent way too much..but they are worth it!  :)

  • My biggest splurge has been my shoes!  I feel in love with them but could NOT justify spending $1000 on a pair of shoes, I don't care how pretty they are.  Then I found them on clearance for 75% off!!!  They were still expensive, but I couldn't say no then!  But mostly everything I have gotten for the wedding has been on sale!  I have beautiful Lennox toasting flutes that I bought a couple years ago because they were discontinuing them and I couldn't believe how cheap they were!

  • I'm splurging on photography and videography (for AHR). I just can't help it because I know that I will want to look back on those memories for the rest of our lives.
  • April, those shoes are fabulous.

  • So far it's our honeymoon - it costs way more than the place where we're getting married, but we figure we'll only do it once and having a 'beach butler' sounds pretty amazing :) But I am entertaining buying one of the melissa sweet bridesmaid dresses I LOVE for our rehearsal dinner or AHR.... I've never spent 325 on a dress but I really really want it!
  • Swarovski is up there.  I got my earings for the wedding for $200.00...thats my splurge.  Over my budget but like you said...small wedding so we can do that!
  • The whole honeymoon is costing way more than we expected, but I would say our B&B for our wedding night is our biggest splurge...$350 a night for two nights. I don't care though I'm sooooo excited about it and it's our wedding night...if you can't splurge on your wedding night then when can you?
  • I don't know if this is what you're thinking of, but so far the biggest splurge is having our photographers there. That is soon to be followed up by our flowers. Just got the quote in my email :/ Oi.
  • A little late, but it will probably be my dress. I just have a feeling I will be about 200-300 above my "hopeful" budget. Also my Juicy sandals. I will probably spend 100 bucks on sandals, but you girls saw them, they are FABUlous!

  • The dress.  With alterations I am currently $850 over budget.  Oh well, I'm only going to wear a wedding dress once.
  • I think I splurged a little on everything.  But I splurged the most on my welcome dinner.  We are paying for group transportation and going to another hotel for a private dinner on the beach for the group.  Something we really didn't need to do (or afford), but I figure this is one of the few times the families will be together on vacation so I went for it (and told the FI afterwards).
