Anyone run an Etsy Shop?

I'm debating starting an Etsy shop and I just wondered if anyone had any advice or insight?
I feel like the things I make, I'm good at making but not sure anyone would buy them, since they could probably make them too.
TK ate my original post last week so sorry if this is repeated.

I want to do some of the stuff I've posted in my blog. Things I've made before and figured out I'm good at.

    Those are some examples.
And since my siggy isn't showing up the link to the blog is here

I just remembered that it costs you money to post each thing for sale. That is why sellers will say made to order or custom ordering available by examples of what they have already done and posted for sale. Not sure if this is true as I have not read the contract for etsy.

I really like the first wreath you posted.

  • Thanks erollis. That was the second one I made and I was super pumped about it.
  • I really want to make one too. DH and I designed all our own papergoods and website.
Our friends just made a shop (CLICKY) doing exactly what we want to do, but we'd want to do more digital design as well. I'm not sure how profitable we'd be.
  • I'd say go for it and see how it does. You can only know if you try :) I am just selling some materials that I'm hoping someone else can use to make something. It was only $0.20 to post last month.
