Ceremony Readings??

Hi fellow bride-to-be's! I was hoping you may have some suggestions for my ceremony readings...I would really like to have my godfather and godmother (my aunt and uncle) to do a reading during the ceremony, and I would like to have them say something together as husband and wife...like one reading that they could go back and forth speaking...a reading that a husband and wife could read together talking about marriage, from a couple who has been married for over 25 years to a couple just starting their journey together...I hope I'm making sense! I'd love to hear your suggestions! Thanks :)

Re: Ceremony Readings??

  • Did you try googling "wedding readings" or "wedding poems" or "wedding scriptures". You'll get thousands of hits.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • we are using a passage from Khalil Gabrin's "the prophet" and a piece called "Everything I need to know, I learned in kindergarten".  For finding readings I HIGHLY recommend going to either indiebride dot com or diybride dot com - they both have some really nice ceremony reading lists on their forums.
  • I like "Union" by Robert Fulghum. If you're not opposed to a Biblical reading, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 is a nice reading: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=ecc%204:9-12&version=NIV
