non catering venues

Did anyone use {or even look at} a venue that did not include catering?

It is super hard to find such a venue as each place has it's own caterer. Unless you are doing it backyard style or on someone's land it is relatively impossible to bring in your own caterer or to do your own food.

Where are you looking? What excately are you looking for Londonderry Country Club, londonderry, The Tupelo Music hall, Londonderry, nh and The Maudslay Arts Center in Newburyport, MA does not include catering. There are a few more I just can't think of them at the moment.

The Bektash Temple in Concord does not have a caterer on sight.

I probably should have clarified why I was asking! My sister is looking at a venue that does not offer a caterer, so I was wondering if people had done this and found it to be more of a hassle, or that it worked out all right. She also looked at another venue a friend had reccommended, who did offer catering, and thought it was much more expensive - I, personally, would think it would just be much easier to do it this way ~ and, of course, it seems to be much more common as well.

it might be hard to find a place that doesn't have a caterer. Searles School and Chapel (not to be confused with Searles Castle) does not have a caterer. It's a venue that you need to provide almost everything. I think they have table and chairs but I'm not positive. We rented some nicer ones for our ceremony. GL

I looked at a few, the ones that I named. But the pressure it would have put on me wasn't worth it. The price for a package venue includes set up, food, most of them some linens, dinnerware, and clean up. I want to show up, have my party without having to worry about anything.

Yes, we did. It was an old church in Portsmouth. Your catere needs to be licensed in NH though. It was called the Pearl in Portsmouth, NH. You can even bring in your own liquor and have open bar with liquor you provide. It is more suitable for a smaller wedding. Good luck!
