Poll: Brag about your FI/DH

I think it'll be fun to say something nice about our S/Os and I'm looking forward to reading what everyone says!

My FI, Tom, is awesome!  He's always up for anything and will accompany me to any chick flick, watch cheesy reality shows with me, and he even came with me to the Southern Women's Show.  lol The other night when our dog was sick he really impressed me.  Not only did he leave work early to meet me at the vet, but he helped me take care of our dog all night; even feeding him water out of a syringe.

he looks really sexy in his new glasses....he got them last night so it is on my mind.He challenges me on a lot of levels.  He is incredibly smart and I love how he can surprise people with that.  People tend to look at him and think he couldn't possibly be smart because he is into weights and he doesn't have a degree.

Oh and I love how he takes care of me when I am sick.  And I love this post!

Those are good ones, Jackie!  My FI's intelligence is what initially attracted me to him.  He is so smart in so many areas and I find that so interesting! Also - he is AMAZING with my Grandpa, who just turned 80.  He'll literally go over to his house with me and go outside and fish with him for hours and just talk about life. Needless to say, he's my Grandfather's favorite person!

Everytime I walk in the door from work he acts so excited to see me, like it's been a month or something, and gives me a huge hug.  It's nice to come home to!

He never lets me go hungry! LOL. FI is a chef in training and since i have been on this "healthy eating plan" he has taken the time out of his day to make all of my chicken breasts or any other meat that i will eat for the week, along with vegetables. He doesn't have a problem blowing up my phone if i dont answer it...and he doesn't let me get my way everytime! The thing about FI is that he doesn't have too many things that tick him off, but if i'm out of line...i'm going to hear it. I like that, because i could never be with a pushover.Oh and the fact that he is OCD drives me crazy, but i love that he is neat because I never ever ever will have to clean up after him! If a pair of pants are on a chair in his room, sometime drastic must have happened (like him being sick)I love this post, it put a smile on my face!Oh...one last thing...he LOVES to introduce me to others at his job, or old friends, or pretty much anyone he is talking to. Its always "You've met my fiance right? Jessica! We're getting married next year!"

He's super hot and can always make me smile!  IMHO, haha.More seriously, I've always been a really independant person and it's nice to know I can depend on DH to take care of me - planning for our finances, home improvement stuff, etc.  Before dating DH, I was usually the "responsible" one in relationships.  I know I don't NEED him to do all that stuff, but it's really reassuring to have a partner like that for a change.  Also, I can't wait to see what an awesome dad he's gonna be in just a few months!  It's one of the things I'm looking forward to most :)

He didn't run after he met my mom..no, for real, I was worried! :) He always checks in with me before making decisions. I always feel take care of, and he is considerate. I love his family, and he does a great job handeling mine. :) I love the way he interacts with our friends' kids, and I know he will be a great hands-on dad.

Brian is this quiet strength. He does so much legwork and background stuff without me asking him to, and makes a lot of things so much easier for me, just because. He's very bright but doesn't have much confidence in himself (he's got an MBA from DUKE for cryin' out loud!!) so we're working on that. :( He LOVES my daughter. The two of them will bake cookies together, do math flash cards together, goof around in the backyard... love it. And when he came home from work yesterday, the first thing he did was - out of nowhere - he gave me the biggest, steamiest kiss - WHOO! :D

He is very giving to me and very patient with any issues I have. That being said, he is so impatient with other people and has a crass sense of humor, so nobody really understands how we work!

My FI is so smart! He really amazes me some times at how intelligent he is. And he fixes things for me. Whether it's my computer or my car, he helps me with those things and it makes me feel really taken care of. Also, he is really into the wedding, which is great, because he's taking on big projects for it. He went to the hardware store the other day and bought a bunch of wood and he's building our lounge furniture for the wedding, which I think is cute. The other day, he decided that I could use a big walk in closet, so he came up with plans to tear down some walls and move doors to make a huge closet with a dressing area and everything! All his idea! And he put up with me when I want to eat Chipotle for every meal. :)

He really respects my thoughts and decisions. He always makes me laugh. He watches One Tree Hill with me (do NOT tell him I told you that!)He makes breakfast every single morning. We can literally laugh about nothing for hours. Everynight before I go to sleep he gives me a foot and hand massage so that I will relax and fall asleep faster. He is best friends with my grandpa. My brothers love having him as a older brother. He deals with my mom. He challenges me to be the best person I can be. He never lets me drive at night. =)

Almost forgot one of my favorite things about him. He is an awesome teacher! I am lucky enough to work at the same school as him and during my break I usually come in and work with his students who are low. I get to see him teach and it always makes me fall in love with him all over again. Children adore him and that is what made me fall in love with him in the first place. =)

He watches One Tree Hill with me (do NOT tell him I told you that!)Hahaha, Steve does, too! He yells at the tv the whole time, but it makes me laugh. "Seriously? Why do you keep going to your PUBLICIST for that? Contact an attorney! And get a restraining order, ffs!"He also watches GG with me, but I think it's because he thinks Chuck Bass is so cool and Blake Lively is hott.My fav thing about him is how adorable he is with our cats. When we first got together, he thought he was a dog person and didn't like cats. I love cats and will never own a dog again, so I was worried. We got 2 cats and he seriously loves these things like they are his children. It makes me excited to see how he is as a father one day (maybe!)

Yay! Great idea :) DH loves to cook. He researches and shops for the ingredients himself, if he wants to make something we've never had before :) If it's a normal grcoery trip, he picks up *my* healthy stuff too (soymilk, whole grain bread, etc) no questions asked. He likes clothes shopping with me, and he actually asks me to go with him when he's shopping for himself. It's comforting to know he's not one of those guys who makes a beeline for the "husband chair" outside the fitting room! ;)

Great idea!He always gets up 10-15 minutes earlier than his alarm each morning to cuddle up with me before he leaves for the day.He watches Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva and Glee with me :)When I'm in a bad mood or just plain old upset, he doesn't talk to me-he simply gives me a big hug and a kiss on the forehead. The way he's sooooo creative. He can draw things people wouldn't image. When I ask him to do something, he puts it at the top of his list. I secretly think it's because he knows I'm a stickler for some things and he'd rather not hear my mouth..lOlIt doesn't hurt that he's a mechanic :]

I love how DH is so passionate about his job and it has lead him to many wonderful oppertunities. I love that I can tell people that he is one of the top five people in the world that can do what he does :) I love when he calls me at 3am when he is at a show to tell me how much he misses and loves me. I love that he spoils me and treats me like a princess. I love that he bought the first house I fell in love with. I love that he finds such wonder in all the little things our doggy does. I love that he is the person all our friends go to if they need help. I love that he will give anyone on the street money that asks for it and when you ask him what if they just go spend it on booze and he says that is between them and God and his part is done. I could go on and on I just love him to pieces!

sarah this is a wonderful idea! especially poignant for me right now b/c DH and i are "fighting" about my jobless situation (he thinks i should accept any design job offer no matter what - even if the company has a bad rep- and basically "take one for the team"). Soooo, let's see. I love that he is a better cook than i am. He's super smart and highly regarded in his professional sphere. He respects me and is always courteous (little things like holding the door open, compliments, etc) He has the most awesome friends who are like extended family now (I think this is a reflection on his own character) charisma that is so sweet abt your hubby! i didn't realize both of you are in the teaching profession!

I love that he offers to clean and cook for me all the time. He even takes out the kitty litter for my cat.  He also compliments me constantly and says I love you all the time.  He's very sensitive to my feelings and loves me for who I am.

Sarah- John yells at One Tree Hill, too! He was also not a fan of Peyton and Lucas! He would make fun of every scene they had, lol. Vanessa- Yeah, we are both in the teaching profession, although I am just here until I finish school. In fact, I am on my break in his office using his computer as we speak! =)  I fell in love with him when I use to work for the after school program (in addition to subbing) and my group of boys decided that he was cool. =)

Steve is convinced that this season is SO much better than the last one because Peyton and Lucas are gone!He also feels the need to tell me "there's your girl!" every time Kate Voegle enters a scene because I have her cd. lol.
  • edited December 2011
Wow I think our DHs would get a long, lol! John likes this season better because they are gone and there is more basketball related matieral. Whenever we see Sophia Bush anywhere else but OTH he says "There's your girl" because she is one of my favorite actresses.

    - he's helped with every wedding craft lol he's become a pro with the paper cutter - he gets up a little earlier than me, so he pours my OJ and cereal for me and has it waiting for me when I get up - he refers to our kitties as our kids and treats them like people, just like I do - he cleans the poo box more than I do, and rarely complains. - he helps with cooking, cleaning, the laundry etc - he's smart, but isn't intimidated that I'm also smart. - he's ok with moving based on where I find a job (since the job market is harder for me) when I finish school, and has told his guys that he would be fine with me being the main bread winner if need be, and he'd just get an assistant job if we need it. (We're thinking looking for jobs for me in Europe. He's a lawyer now, but he'd have to take new tests and stuff before he could be a practicing lawyer anywhere but Florida) - he's got great taste and buys me cute clothes - despite the weight I've gained in the past few years he always tells me how hot and sexy I am - he loves my family and from day one treated my neice and nephews like they were his own sigh I could go on and on lol. I'm so happy I get to call him my husband in just 15 days!
