Today is a "fall festival"thing we're doing at work.  People brought in food.  I was out pretty much all week with the flu.  Yet still someone asked me yesterday (through text) what I was going to bring.  I was like, "Uh, I guess a bag of salad mix and a can of corn.  I'm not going to the grocery store feeling like this".I totally forgot the salad and corn at home and I don't feel bad about it.  There is plenty of stuff already on the list that people are bringing and I highly doubt anyone is going to miss my Libby's can of corn and Fresh Express bag of salad mix.If anyone says anything to me, they can seriously kiss my a$$.  The flu has left me in no mood for their crap.

The whole "what to answer for his proposal" thread is ridiculous to me. The whole thing is made even more ridiculous with the fact that the OP is 17, and according to her bio has been in this relationship long distance for 2 years. I don't know. Call me judgemental but I don't think marriage is quite the solution to their situation right now.

Donna, I guess it's a good thing that I didn't read her bio.  I would have been even more tempted to answer.  My FFF is.... My dept. head brought up the fact that she threw me a wedding shower in our meeting the other day as if I was ungrateful.  I never wanted her to throw me one in the first place because I knew--I knew--that it would be thrown in my face one day.  It would have made me extremely rude back in January when she brought it up but I really wish that I had had the backbone to say "No thank you."  And yes, it was extremely generous of her and I thanked her so much and gave her a very nice gift as a thank you.

Mariah, I can't believe someone asked you to bring food when you've been sick.  No offense, but I wouldn't want any food from someone who'd had the flu all week.  Julie, that sucks about your department head.  I'd want to punch her in the face, too.

None taken.  I seriously thought the same thing.  Granted, I was just going to give them what I already had that had never been opened...it still made no sense to me

I think it's really crappy that laughing at a guest lecturer's accent makes your day so much better. I've seriously tried to find a way for this to be justified in my head and...nope.  Still rude.

I get tired of seeing the same post of looking for a venue. If you need help there should be a rule to put all the information because not to mention there are TONS of venues out there!!!! I roll my eyes when I see "Hi I am looking for a venue, could you please help me? Maybe in the DFW area."UGH! I could go on and on about it! Ok thats it for now!

I wasn't going to say this because it is a little passive agressive...but seriously people, have you heard of Google? I'm MORE than happy to provide opinions, advice, and experience on anything under the sun....but don't make a new post solely about something factual that you could have googled in about 5 seconds.

I have a good friend who got married 3 weeks ago to a guy that she had been dating for 3 months and engaged to for 2 months.  She just found out yesterday she was pregnant.  She has only wanted to be a mom since she was a kid, but WOW.  I would think they would want more time to get to know each other before they added a baby to the mix.Oh well. To each their own. :)

Jess - Wow! It reminds me of one of my coworkers. She found somebody on eharmony two months ago and has been seeing him since. Well the guy has bought her so much jewelry, bears, cards etc and wants to get married! she is looking at rings. It just seems more like he is buying her than anything. Nothing wrong with eharmony but geez. I would want to make sure he isn't a crazy person and get to know him for awhile.

Oh and I have to add...I took some people off my facebook that work with me and now they are mad at me! But goodness....I think there should be a fine line between work and personal. Which is weird because we do not talk outside of work and we don't really talk much at work.

The whole "what to answer for his proposal" thread is ridiculous to me.At least she's giving her and her fiance plenty of time to get to know each other considering her bio says her wedding date is in 2013!?  Oh, and I totally looked her up on facebook.  That's what you get for putting your last name on your profile.

I REALLY want to complain about someone I work with, but since two girls on this board work on my floor, I'm not going to.  Man, I hate being smart on the internet sometimes. :)

I agree about the lack of Google skills around here. I mean, I don't mind Googling for someone else every once in a while, but seriously-- we're not the personal secretaries for the search-engine challenged of DFW.

I will just say that the excuses for coming in late (and later and later) are getting ridiculous. Even if you do stay til late in the evening.  Just adjust your hours, and stop with the excuses.

I really wanna tattle at work! I am so sick of a girl my age making young people in corporate look bad, she went to a halloween party wednesday night (put pictures on facebook) and left yesterday at 8:30am about to throw up... hangover much.. and today she is wearing a university hoodie jeans and flip flops, yes it is casual Friday but in a billion dollar chemical company with our CEO, owners and VP of operations walking around. not acceptable! I am also thinking of emailing my boss the Nascar dates next weekend because she has no vacation time left and already told me she has tickets for the whole weekend
