Jazzing up a veil

So I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for a veil. If I were to buy a plain veil, how difficult do you think it would be to sew my own fancy rhinestone/pearl/bead edging on it? Would you think it would be easier to sew it on a veil that has a pencil edge, or just natural/free on the edge?

Try ebay... i got mine off of there and it was less than 20 bucks with pearls and rhinestones all done up

I have a beautiful, but plain veil that I would really love to jazz up, but I am afraid that I would totally screw it up and this close to the wedding, I would be in real trouble. LOL
