I know the poll is supposed to be just yes or no, but since people were posting some concerns, I thought I'd start a new thread for that. First of all, my opinions - feel free to express your own. Getting a vaccine is a personal choice, I just feel that people should be educated, rather than hearing a bunch of stuff from biased news reports or YouTube videos, before making their decision.1. This vaccine did not come out super fast, it came out with the same speed as every other seasonal flu vaccine.2. If they had identified H1N1 sooner, it would be in the seasonal flu shot and you wouldn't even know you were getting it. If you don't have an adverse reaction to the seasonal shot, you should be fine getting H1N1 because the components that people are concerned about are the same.3. The risk of something serious happening to you is extremely small, and just as likely as a side effect from any other medication, food additive, etc. You just can't predict it.4. It's not just about vaccinating yourself, it's about protecting the population. You don't even realize how many immune-compromised people you come into contact with every day.5. The flu and chicken pox can both be fatal. The chicken pox vaccine was created because if you don't get chicken pox as a child, it is extremely serious later in life, so it's no less important than any other vaccine.Basically, I feel like if you would normally get the seasonal flu shot, you shouldn't be concerned about this one. If you have other objections to vaccines, that's fine.
