What photographer are you using?

Aloha! I'm getting married in Kona next summer and am wondering what photographers you did/are planning to use and what your experience has been with them? Also, pricing for them. Thanks!

    Shawn Starr is pretty highly recommended on this board.  We used him and he was amazing.  He is based on Oahu but will go to other islands for a travel fee.  He traveled to Maui for our wedding :)

    We're using Frank Amodo...he's based on Oahu but travels to the various islands...he's coming to Maui for our wedding.  Sophia (fia214) used James Rubio...he's from the Big Island i believe...you should post her. J. :-)

    Got married in Kona and I used James Rubio Photogrpahy. James and his wife are based out of Hilo and I felt as if they were part of the family. I got so many rave reviews from my family. We adore them! Check him out. http://www.jamesrubiophotography.com/

    I just used Monique Feil...she was AMAZING. Seriously, she was like laying on the dance floor just to get a good shot! :) She was so fun and just part of our party which was great. Her costs for a full day was $3,500 I think...we used here for our welcome party and the wedding, so it was a bit more. Here is her website: http://www.moniquefeil.com

    He was highly recommended to us by James Rubio - James was out of town on the date of our wedding.  We just got married last week in Hilo.  Jim did an amazing job and was SUPER to work with!!  He has a great personality and we instantly felt like we had known him for ages!!  He was very affordable.....he lives on the main island (I think he said he just moved from Volcano to Kona).....his price is the same regardless of your location on the big island.....travel fee only applies to other islands.  For the quality and enormous amount of pictures he has provided us with we thought his rate was extremely affordable.

    I used Rachel Robertson and was totally happy with her work, her personality, her price, and her turn-around time.
