Tasty Tuesday

Here is something we are making for dinner tonight, it's sooo simple and delicious. There's no real name for it, just a method.-1 beef roast-1 jar peperoncini's (with liquid)-1 packet Italian seasoning (the kind you make salad dressing with)-1 8oz. beer (something like Bud Light)Combine everything in a crock pot / slow cooker and let it go!I started ours this morning on low heat and set our timer for 12 hours. It will be moist & delicious by the time we eat it! We will also cut up some potatoes and cook them in the crock pot just before we are ready to eat.

  • Ashley, crock pots are total life savers if you're busy and don't have time to cook! You really have to get one, put one on your registry. I've found people love to give crock pots. lol. They just come in so handy. Like tonight FI & I both won't be home until late, and I didn't want to have to cook when I did get home, so this is perfect because FI can eat when he gets home, and I can eat when I get home. It's ready whenever. :) Don't be ashamed though! :) I only have one because FI already had one.
  • I didn't own one until I had dd - somehow, cooking and newborns just don't mix. Now, I can't believe I made it this long without one. I actually just started the "Better Than Arby's Roast Beef" when I got home from work tonight so it can cook overnight. For some reason, I'm paranoid about letting it cook while we're gone all day so I cook it while we're home. 3-4lb roast beef 1c water 1/2 c brown sugar 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix (dry) 1 chopped sweet onion 1/2 tsp garlic powder salt/pepper to taste Put the onion in the bottom of the crock pot. Add the roast and sprinkle with salt & pepper. Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl and dump over the roast. Put on the cover and cook on high for 12 hours. This will come out fork tender. Shred with 2 forks and serve on onion rolls.
