Storing your wedding dress before your wedding

Hi Ladies, I just picked up my wedding dress this weekend in Boston.  Because Boston is too far away I'm getting it altered in PA.  So..I had to bring it home with me.  It's just in a light plastic bag right now.  Did any of you have to store your wedding dress before you had it altered and did you put it in anything special?  I want to put it in a heavier plastic garment bag, but I'm not sure where I could get one.  I was thinking of trying the dry cleaners.  Do you guys have any ideas?Thanks!!

    Everything i've seen has said not to store it in plastic, but to hang it up by the hangar tags and keep it wrapped in a clean, white cotton sheet.  And then when you have it steamed a day or two before your wedding, hang it up somewhere and let out the train (if you have one) and lay it out on a clean white sheet on the ground so it's not scrunched up.  GL!
