Engagement pics/Save the dates

When is everyone getting their engagement pics done and sending their save the dates (in relation to the wedding)? I am getting antsy with my planning and feel like I need to do everything immediately, but I know that's not the case.I kind of want to do engagement pics around the holidays just because of the potential for cute scenary/locations but I don't know....Also, anyone going to the Atlantic Catering tasting/bridal show tomorrow at the Buomi Temple? I'll be there!! Can't wait!

If you haven't yet tasted with Atlantic, you are in for a treat!! They were our caterer and we loved them!!As for your engagement pics...if you want to do them around the holidays and you are able to schedule it with your photog, then do it! You're already engaged, you can take e-pics anytime! And for when to send out STDs, it varies. If you are getting married on a holiday weekend or you have a lot of OOTers, then you might want to send them out earlyier around 8-ish months out. Otherwise, 6 months out is good. (These numbers are just ballpark)

We were married in May and had our e-pics taken the previous October.  We sent our STDs in with our Christmas cards in early-mid December so it was about 6ish months out.  Like SK said, unless you're getting married on a holiday weekend or you have a disproportionate amount of OOT guests I think you'd be ok sending them around 6 months.

I haven't worked with Atlantic but I have been working with Oh my Chocolate who does work with them and I got some samples, wow!  Good stuff!I don't know when you are getting married but a lot of couples did the spring blossoms in DC for pics, and the spring is a good time either way for pics if you can hold out.  I don't really know if holidays are a good time for outdoor pics but photographers wonders. Save the dates really depends on out of town guests.
