Did anyone respond to your STD's?

((posted on my wedding local board too, but want some opinions from my "real" local board))So I'm a September 10 bride - and although I would have preferred to wait a little while longer - we sent the STD's. Reason being, half the guest list is OOT, across the country, etc., it's on a holiday weekend on a Sunday, and everyone kept asking anyways.My question is - did you get any response from sending yours? Did people say they got them / try to respond like an RSVP / anything? Just curious and I decided to post because I've been on the knot while at work pretty much all day...oops...

    We got a lot of responses-mostly e-mails from people saying they couldn't wait, which was neat. We also got a few notes/e-mails from people letting us know they could not attend, which was helpful in assessing preliminary headcounts.

    We got responses from some of our guests, not all of them though. Some commented on how cute the card was, and others dropped a line to say how excited they were.

    We got some phone calls but they said "save the date" on them, so I think most people knew it wasn't the actual invite.  Some of the older relatives were confused and thought it was the invite but it didn't have any of the information on it, so they called wondering the time and specifics... and that was kinda funny :)

    We only got a few - mainly frmo people telling us they already had plans that weekend and probably wouldn't be able to make it, so not to bother sending them an official invitation.

    I got a few phone calls, but nobody said that they can't make it.  My FI also got some emails from his friends, but they were giving him a hard time b/c he has a website.

    Thanks for the responses! Of course, I don't expect everyone to comment, but it would be nice to at least have a FEW people say they got them, or they can't wait to come etc. I'm waiting for the call from an "older" guest thinking it's the real invitation. I'll have to laugh a little.
