Re: B&M Monday!

  • edited December 2011
I don't really have anything to B&M about. I had a great weekend.  I painted our whole living room and hallway, my HS beat Steve's HS BAD (61-28), we had a cold front, and this morning I had enough time to stop at Starbucks and get a peppermint mocha.  The only thing I have to B&M about is that the Cowboys lost.  They sucked it up yesterday.  And I'm tired from painting.  I thought I was never going to finish and I had the worst headache from the paint fumes yesterday.

It's monday. That's really all I have to complain about. I'd complain about working until 8, but I'm working on being thankful for the job instead! It's hard to have a good attitude. But really I had a great weekend. Walmart had baking supplies on sale, so I'm stocked up for Christmas cookie baking!

It's Monday.  I don't want to be here so badly I have knots in my stomach.  The cold front gave me a huge headache that wouldn't quit last night, kept me up on and off during the night and has lasted through this morning.  Whine and ugh.

Also, I just typed out this huge long diatribe about how irritated I am with FI's family and IE crashed.  Let's just hope this isn't a sign of a bad day.  I'm feeling like I may have talked myself into it already though.  Gah.  I should just go home now.

Grrrr to wedding planning.  I am so sick and tired of people bittching about the wedding.  ALLLL we are asking you to do is show up but no, we get complaints about the hotel block, our suit color for the men, our flower choices, the list is endless.  I didn't have to do the hotel block AT ALL but I did it to save your asss money but do I get a thanks or anything like that? No.  Just complaints.  You don't have to stay there by any means. And FMIL is claiming she never knew we were doing a rehearsal.  She's known about it since at least April and it's been talked about since then.  Thanks for lying and trying to make FI feel bad by being a manipulative biatch.  Oh and you'll "try to make it", I don't really care- we will have it with you or without you.

Christmas music in November is obnoxious. Let the holidays happen when they are supposed to, instead of shoving it down our throats so early. By the time Christmas actually rolls around, everyone will be stressed out and sick of the holiday. We haven't even eaten our Thanksgiving turkey and thought about the Pilgrims!!! One holiday at a time....damn mass marketing.

I haven't been at work since Tuesday and I really enjoyed spending those 3 days off with my little one, makes me wish I could be a SAHM. I'm a BM in a wedding on Friday, I still haven't bought the required shoes and I found out yesterday that I HAVE to dress business casual for the rehearsal.

I am getting sick. Sore throat. Two days before final dress rehearsal for the musical. HOW PERFECT! At least it didn't happen for the wedding.

Emi, luckily I haven't heard the Christmas music yet :)  I'm excited about decorating for Christmas, though!  I finally get to put Christmas lights up. I can't decide between simple big clear bulbs or the newer smaller, icicle lights I saw at Home Depot that looked pretty.

I have nothing to B&M about today.  I had a great weekend, cleaned my house, did some shopping, did a little partying like a 21 year old, and still hung out with my hubby AND my mom for their birthdays.  And I found a good parking spot today.  ::sending out Good Monday vibes to the rest of the Knotties since I have some to spare::

I'm tiiiiired! My trip to Miami was exhausting, and last night I barely slept. It took me forever to go to sleep and when I did, I kept waking up. I really need to get back into my exercise routine since I basically abandoned it last week, but I really just want to sleep.

One of my roommates burnt something in the microwave last night and set off the fire alarm. And it still smells like it throughout the entire apartment. We tried leaving doors and windows open but it was in the 30 or 40s last night over here and that is way too cold! I have 3 full weeks of school left and 2 of those involve multiple tests and finals. Emi, I love Christmas music! I was so happy when I heard it on the radio on saturday.

Also no B&M for me today except that it's Monday. Our E-Pics are in the mail to us, I picked BM dresses, we chose the cakes and mailed the contract, and TCU beat the crap out of Utah.  No complaints here, at all!

Bill and I were both sick most of the weekend with allergy and sinus trouble.  He is getting worse and may work from home tomorrow.  It was so bad on Saturday that we couldn't go to the football game and we didn't do much of anything else either.  We were barely able to function enough to go get groceries.  Thanksgiving is coming and I'm getting myself all worked up about his parents coming.  I know that they're coming for an inspection and that most of what I have done will not be appreciated but it's still a little upsetting.  Last night they couldn't believe that we bought a refrigerator.  "What do you mean you bought a refrigerator?"  That's just it:  we bought a refrigerator.  Is it really that difficult to understand?  "What do you mean you went to NYC last week for the day?"  We flew in Tuesday afternoon and flew out Wednesday evening.  Lastly, Bill hasn't seen his parents since the wedding.  They hate coming up here and we don't have the vacation time like we used to (Bill's stupid company).  They are retired and all his dad does is play golf three times a week.  So what does he want to do two times when he comes to visit his oldest next week?  Play golf.  Bill is a little hurt that his dad doesn't want to spend time with him.  I told him to call his mom and tell her and then maybe she'll tell his dad.  Ugh.  I'm going to need a lot of alcohol to get through next week.

I'm finding it hard to drop a grand on a mattress/box spring. Even if most of the money being put towards it is from the wedding. Is a sleep number *really* that worth it? I figure we can find something that works almost just as well for less expensive. But that could be my naivety about mattress/box spring shopping. We could get just the bed and not the foundation for about $700 but I saw a review that says the bed shifts without it.I have come to dread mattress shopping and we haven't even started LOL

Apple, I've heard sleep numbers are nice...but I'm not willing to pay the price for it.

Julie, that is terrible! I'm really sorry your IL's are such a thorn in your side. You just need to do your own thing next week and not worry so much about entertaining Bill's parents. Your husband is your first priority, so as long as he is good, then nothing else really matters. And I must admit, them being shocked about a refrigerator purchase made me laugh a bit. It is just absurd that they would care. Anyway, chin up! And don't be afraid to have a cocktail in hand their entire visit. ; )

Mariah, I am thinking the same thing. It can't be *that* much better to warrant the price...and that grand is the SALE price. I'm thinking we'll spend half that and still get a good quality set that will last just as long.

I had a wonderful birthday weekend and have the greatest husband, friends, and family (except my biological dad who didn't even call....I should expect it but it still hurts my feelings) who made me feel so special. Only things to B&M about are the Cowboys not showing up to the game yesterday and having to come to this job I hate today....but hey, it pays the bills for now.

Apple, have you tried a sleep number?  We did and the only one we liked was the one with the memory foam topper because then you couldn't feel the air balloon-things so much.  That, plus the fact that our sleep numbers were only off by a few points made us realize that there was absolutely no reason to spend so much money on that brand.  At least, that's how it was for us.  Go try one out and if you love it, it may be worth it.  A good night's sleep is worth a lot more than you think.

Julie, I feel your pain.  FI's dad does nothing but berate him and belittle his accomplishments.  He's 23, putting himself through grad school, starting a PhD next year, owns a house with me, completely self-sufficient and has been his whole life and all his father can do is tell him how stupid and naive he is.

We were planning on going to try it out in the store. Believe me, I know the value of a good nights sleep! Especially with the back problems I've been having this year. I'll be talking to my chiro about it today as well and see what she has to say about it too. I think we plan on trying things out Sunday. I'll be pretty dead by then so it's the perfect time to shop from what I've read online.

I was sick pretty much all weekend. The medicine I was taking made me break out into hives, than I had to go back to the doctor on Saturday and broke out again in hives, and now I am on the 3rd medicine. Its gross. It sucks. It makes me gag. I hate pneumonia. Period. Today is FI birthday! And I would so much rather spend the day with him than be here. I dont feel like working today. Thats just it. I may just go home. screw it!

Apple- I wouldn't spend the money to be honest with you.  We looked into them and they aren't all-that in our opinion. If your going to spend the $$ , I know a ton of people that swear by the tempur-pedic though. There are some fantastic mattress options and sales at Macy's too. Check it out!

I had a pretty awesome weekend, but I hate going out of town because as soon as I get back, the weekend is over.  Plus, I didn't get to see FI at all except for a couple of hours last night (not including sleeping).I have to replace the brakes and tires on my car.  SO expensive.  :(In good news, we booked our DJ, and that's pretty much the end of our major vendors. Here's hoping this week is WAY better than the last one.

Apple, I cringed as well about spending that much on a bed.  It was so worth it!  Before, Jordan really hated going to sleep in the bed so he fell asleep on the couch most nights.  It's been so much nicer since we got the new bed.  I would say that the only reason to go for a sleep number is if you each have really strong and different feelings about hard/soft matresses.Julie, I hear you!  I'm dreading Christmas with my family.  All I can think about is how my mom is going to complain that both of us are overweight - it has come up all the time in the past for me, and now mom's got another easy target. I'm sure there are any number of other criticisms coming my way, but that's the first to come to mind and I'm already terrified.

I'm exhausted. We had long lost family over yesterday for the game and fajita's. They stayed forever, then I had to clean up. I got to bed at a *decent* time (12:30) but then couldn't sleep. Now, it's MONDAY (boo!) and it feels like the day will never end. At the rate it's creeping, it'll feel like Thursday before I get home tonight.
