Favorite bands or type of music?

I always say Bon Jovi but at least 50% of that is sentimental and not entirely about the music.

I don't know that I can choose just one fave for "music", though Muse is always really at the top of the list. Also KOL, Sick Puppies, Black Keys, Postelles gah I can't choose. Music is difficult for me to pick just one favourite...

Oh right, type of music. Um... indie and rock (bluesy rock, not poppy rock) are my two main go-to's I suppose. And then bluesy country stuff I suppose, and a bunch of classical and operatic forms. Honestly, I'll listen to anything so long as it's good.

My favorite band is The Clash.

My favorite music is punk, blues (both traditional and contemporary), and indie/alt rock. I also enjoy classical when I am in the mood. In fact, when in the proper mood I can enjoy just about any genre....except country.

I like classic rock, 90s alternative and a little modern rock. My favorite artist is Hole/Courtney Love. I also like a bit of modern folk/chick rock, like Liz Phair, Dar Williams, Ani DiFranco. Some of my other favorites are The Killers, The Strokes, Counting Crows, Stone Temple Pilots, NIN, Journey, Queen, The Velvet Underground and Stevie Nicks.

That was my experience, as well. I had 3 generations of my elders' musical tastes imposed on me. This is why I have a secret soft spot for Bing Crosby and Perry Como.

My favorites are Aerosmith, Prince, Matisyahu, U2, Elton John... I love '90s-ish hip-hop and R&B, and '50s-'60s rock, even though none of those artists would top my favorites.

I really like music I can rock out to, dance to, sing along with, wish I'd written, or can pretend was written about me.

Oasis! They are my alllll time favorite. But I also love the beatles, the stones, I love folk music. Peter,paul, and mary, bob seeger, bob dylan, and the like. I listen mosy to like...I dunno. Adult alternative? new folk music? Josh ritter, joshua radin, ben folds, ingrid michaelson, mat kearney,brett dennen, pete yorn, david gray, that knda stuff. I alos lovepop music though and some country. Really anything that isn't screamo, techno, or annoying.

I really like Train. I saw them in concert when they opened for John Mayer and they were AMAZING live. Our wedding song will be "Marry Me" by them. The lead singer actually got up and walked around the concert area and sang the song.

My favorite band is the Doors, favorite type of music is classic rock. I like bands like Nirvana, Stereophonics, Neil Young, most band that MsMerymac listed, and prefer the acoustic versions of most songs.
