Wedding Woes

WWWWD?

We're planning on telling our parents on June 20 (after our first OB appt). I'm thinking we're going to invite everyone over to our place and have a lunch spread and break the news.

I need ideas for the spread. I already have veggie platter. I might ask MIL to bring deviled eggs. Desserts are covered. Just need the other things to feed 6 people. Suggestions?

TIA

my suggestion will always be the same: make a lot of just a few things, rather than a platter of many things.

this ensures that you are not spending all your time refilling platters, everyone gets to try a bite of everything, and you are putting the best stuff out there.

You're brilliant, Lego. I'm going to totally have a Laurentian (is that even her SN?) "tell the parents" costume party. Complete with fatcat wearing a costume. ALL COLORS MUCH MATCH

Myrtle, I hadn't thought of that. Good idea!! I may have to work with Squizz on this one since I can't write music - just sing it.

You could re-enact that scene from the end of Spaceballs where the alien bursts out of his stomach, dons a tophat, and starts singing, "Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gaaaaaaaaal!"

Except chance the words to "Hello grandmommy, hello granddaddy, guess what!? we're pregnant noooooooow!"

You just had me snorting and LOLing!

Actually, we're going to give out cards. First I'll hand one to H and see if anyone catches it. But also we're going to give our dad's Grandfather father's day cards.

    deviled eggs (maybe)
    egg salad
    chicken salad
    cold cuts
    variety of bread
    risotto balls (aranccini di riso)
    and desserts
