table numbers/ seating chart

just wondering how everyone is organizing their tables? is anyone writing the table number on guest's escort cards? any other ideas would be appreciated!

    We had a seating chart poster made by the woman we ordered our invitations through! Her name is Julie Armstrong and her business is called The Invitation Place. She lives in the Grandville area. Her website is here: http://www.weddinginvitationplace.com/Seating-Arrangements.html

    The poster really made our event extra elegant, which is what I was going for. Place cards look nice until 20% of them are taken... then it looks like a messy table with tented cards on top. However, the poster is much more expensive than doing tented cards, but it was worth it to me.

    We are doing our escort cards by making leaf cutouts and hanging them from curly willow branches.  And yes, we are writing the table numbers on the leaves. 

    As far as deciding who sits where, I made a poster board and drew the layout of the room.  Then I took sticky notes, and put peoples names on it as they RSVP'd, that way I could move them around as needed.

    We did table numbers on the escort cards with the guests' names already printed on them... then a master list that was posted on the wall with names in alphabetical order and table numbers.

    I organized it similar to PPs... big poster board with the layout of the room, and little sticky notes with names on the tables as they RSVP'd.

    i really wanted to do a poster with people's names and assigned tables. would it be going overboard to place the seating chart near the entry AND have name cards at each place for every table? thanks!
