We finally close on our house today!!! We have spent months doing paperwork and saving money for this day. I am so excited to finally own this home with FI but nervous about all the remodeling we want to do. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a scene from 'Money Pit'

Congratulations! I'm in the same boat as you. The advice I got from everyone that seems to be working is 1. Just make sure you and your FI tackle one project at a time. That makes everything much more manageable. and 2. Don't do any major renovations for at least a month. You want a chance to live in the house first and see what will work best for you
