I've been following the volcano situation in Europe pretty closely, and I'm starting to get really nervous. Please send your vibes first to the safety of the people of Iceland, but also to Swiss Air so they don't cancel my flight next week!!!! I am going to be a wreck watching this over the next few days.

    ugh, i know what you mean-- a friend of mine was expecting her husband back from iraq yesterday (has been there for almost a year now) and his flight was cancelled.  i can't imagine!  good luck, i am sure it will clear up soon!  ps--totally jealous of your trip!!!

    Lots of vibes for your trip! My brother's gf is studying in Italy this semester and right now her roommate is stranded in Ireland and her parent's can't get over there for their one visit to her. I think they've been able to reschedule their flight to Monday, so hopefully you'll be all set at the end of the week! Have fun!

    I've been researching all morning, and it looks like it might be okay mid-week. I am really hoping this ash cloud doesn't interrupt our plans. I won't lie - I'll be pretty devastated. This is my only true vacation since 2006 until our HM. I've been to Vegas and DC since then, but I haven't been on a week-long vacation for four years.

    Not that this helps but one of the girls on my club board was supposed to fly home from her HM tomorrow and is now stuck in Germany til at least Wed!  Where in Italy are you flying to?  I heard they shut down a few airports but maybe not yours?

    We are flying Boston-Zurich-Florence. Zurich is shut down at least today. CNN just showed a graphic with the estimated mid-week cloud. It was pretty much only over the Nordic countries, so hopefully we'll be okay. My mom just called and told me that Dublin is resuming flights this evening, and that if we don't get to Florence, we'll just cash in our tickets and go somewhere else. My goodness I could use a Guiness right now, hahaha.
