Single-ring or double-ring ceremony?

We'll have a double-ring ceremony. I did ask my fiancé whether or not he wanted to exchange rings though.

Both H and I exchanged rings. We both wear a wedding ring. Although he can only wear his when he is not at work.

I'm not trying to sound betchy but why would someone want a single ring ceremony/what's the purpose? (I have never heard of it until now.. so I just wanted to ask you all before I google it lol)
