Jeans

What's your absolute limit when buying a pair of jeans?  I bought some today that I thought were 50E, but I was apparently looking at the wrong tag because they were actually 70E.  I'm taking them back because that's just more than I want to spend (plus, even with a belt on, my crack shows when I'm sitting, and that just aint cute).

I always try to get them on sale or at the outlet mall.  I wouldn't be able to spend more than $50 on a pair of jeans.

I said up to $50 / but I'd probably spend $20 more if they were PERFECT.  Which has never happened yet.

I don't buy jeans often- but when I do find the perfect pair, I will spend what it takes (within reason) to own them. I'm also really short, so it's harder to find pants without hemming them, so if they fit- it's a bonus!

I actually just discovered the Levi's store and outlet. HALLELUJAH! Love their jeans!

The ones I like are usually around $60, unless I can get them on sale.  But, I wear jeans to work every day.  If I didn't, I would probably only spend around $30.

99% of myjeans are in the $50 ish range (from the Gap, depends on the sales).  I have two pair that were $99.99 and I couldn't resist because they fit me perfectly.

If you can get to Amsterdam there were many stores that sold jeans for 29E.

Although I still think you got a deal.  Wranglers were 139E in Sicily.

Yaay! Third time's the charm! :)

I voted up to $50... but I'll usually balk if the total + tax is more than $40. I hate spending a ton of money on any clothes.

    How much is 70E?

I usually find them $20 or less but WOULD spend up to $50 if they were AWESOME and fit great.  I am still in "junior" sizes but have a hard time finding non-teenybopper styles so I hunt a lot of stores and resale shops. And I always do the squat/bend down/sit test when I try them on to make sure my crack doesn't show. Like you said, it just ain't cute.

70 euros is $90 right now, which is way more than I ever spend.  I'm normally more of an up to $50 kind of person.

The most I'll spend is $100. It's REALLY hard for me to find jeans that fit perfectly, so when I do, I snatch them up. Pacsun has 2 pairs for $50, which is an awesome deal when I can find my size and length.

I'm addicted to my Diesels, so I'll spend $100-$250 on those, but I keep them for years and years. Also, my legs are super long, and they're one of the only brands that I know I can get long enough to wear heels with.

I said up to $100. I have a hard time finding any jeans cheaper than $50 in tall sizes. Long sizes, yes, they are everywhere, but then the waist sits right on my hip bones. Tall sizes are extended from the crotch to the waist so they actually sit correctly.

if i was a skinny biitch i'd be wearing true religions and sevens.  i'd only own like 3 pairs and they'd last me forever.  trues go for $400 here.  but in vegas at the outlets i got H a pair for $130.

Less than $40. The store I like routinely has them on sale for under that price. I wouldn't pay more than that because they don't last more than a couple of years before they start to wear out. They're fashion jeans but I buy them from that place because they have the plus-petite sizes I need.

If I can find plus-petites in a Levi's store or other good brand of tough jeans, I'd buy them for over $50.

I used to always wear Gap jeans but this one day I tried on a pair of Seven jeans in Bloomingdale's.  They were the most amazing pair of jeans I've ever put my arse into.  They were almost $200.00 and worth every single penny.  I wear them all the time and have for the past 3 years.

I have a very hard time finding jeans that fit well.  When I actually do find some that fit, I will pretty much pay whatever.  I would much rather spend $100 on a pair of jeans that fit well than $20 on a pair that look like crap on me.

The only jeans that fit me right are Gap Long and Lean.  If i go to the regular Gap they are $60, sometimes $70, but I am lucky to have a Gap Outlet right near my house so I can usually get them there for between $30-$40.  I don't know why I have such a hard time spending money on jeans because i wear them so much, and jeans are one thing that can be worn over and over and people won't notice.  Yet, I'll easily spend $100 or more on a dress I'll wear once to someone's wedding or something.

I love sevens, and have had one pair that have lasted me for 8 years, although they currently don't fit (sad).  I can usually find designer jeans on sale at TJMaxx and won't spend more than $100.

Edit:  i also only buy 1 pair of jeans every year and a half to two years.  I don't wear them often, just to go out or on the weekends.

I wrote "up to $100" because I will usually buy from The Gap or Express, and their jeans are around $60 or $70.

I used to just buy el cheapo jeans from Target, but I found that they didn't fit as well and they certainly didn't last long.  I have jeans from Gap and Express that are three years old and still wear like new, while my Target jeans would fall apart within the first year.

last pair of jeans I bought were like $14.99 from Target.... the ones I bought for my 2 yr old that day were $19.99.  Sad when your kid gets better stuff than you!

right now while I'm losing weight I wont really spend anything on jeans but, if they are a great quality pair of jeans that I'd keep for years - once I hit goal weight- I could spend up to $100

When I find a good pair I'm willing to spend up to $100.  I only have 3 pairs, two wide leg and one skinny.  I don't buy clothes unless I absolutely love them or they are under $15.  I'm on a jean hunt right now and it could take me months.  I bought the two wide leg jeans I have 4 years ago at GAP and Express and it took me about 6 months to find some, and I drove to Chicago (from MI).  They were both $60.

My "perfect" jeans are Gap 1969 jeans and I'm lucky to find em for 60, but usually they're 80. If I need them, I'll spend it. If I don't need em, I'll wait until they're cheaper. I usually only end up spending about 50 on em, but once or twice I've gotten screwed and had to dish out 70 or 80.

And PS, the jeans I bought at a Levi's outlet for maybe $35 are my favorite ones by far at the moment!  I got 3 pairs.  Way better than the Gap jeans I used to buy most often.

I used to set my limit at $35ish, but I've realized if you get the *right* jeans, they can defnitely be worth more.

I set my limit arround $75 if I really like them and they are well built.  I also like to shop at places like Filene's Basement - I got a REALLY nice pair of jean, originally $300, marked down to $75 there - definitely worth it.

I don't think I could bring myself to spend over $100 on jeans, though

Living in LA for college permanently skewed my perspective of what is an appropriate amount to spend on jeans. My faaaaavorites (as in, I bought another pair exactly the same in a slightly different wash) are Chip and Peppers that cost a little over $100, and I think they're totally worth it. My limit is $150, but I also don't go out and buy jeans very often.

I guess $60 would be my limit, maybe. But they'd have to look amazing on me. Like, make me look 2 sizes smaller.

I know a lot of people who own Luckys and other $100+ jeans, but I really couldn't bring myself to do it. They can't last THAT much longer than regular jeans. Plus, I wear jeans once a week, tops. If I found a high quality (like $200) pair on sale for less than $100, I might splurge if I could at that time.
