East Indian Themed Wedding

Hey Ladies,

Hope your wedding planning is going well. Ok so I have decided on the colors for the wedding (orange and blue) and I have decided on the theme (East Indian influence), but now I am looking online trying to find some pictures of an East Indian influenced wedding and so far I haven't seen anything that has really wowed me. I want the decor for the wedding to have that East Indian flavor but I dont want it to be over the top. Any idea as to where I can find some really great pics that I can share with my decorator? I really want to go with this theme. I chose it in remembrance of my grandmother who was my best friend. She passed away a few years ago and was of East Indian heritage. I hope somebody out there can put me on the right track.

Hi Karrie,

I am of East Indian heritage and have a few random thoughts that might help you:

1) With orange and blue, you can add some gold accents, which might help out bring the traditional East Indian Look. You could use solid orange or blue table cloths and top them with gold overlays.

2) You can use marigolds in your decor, which is a very traditional Indian flower. You could use garlands, or strings of marigold for your ceremony or reception. The possibilities are endless.

3) Napkin Rings with orange beads
