invites

Hey everyone! So my FI and I booked our dream venue! We are so excited but we need your help! The venue we got my dad knows the owner. Since the owner was like 16/17 yrs old. When we went to book the venue he hooked us up!!! Everytime he through something in he said they are family she deserves this. So my question is Do we send him an invite to the wedding? I have my thoughts on it but would love to hear what everyone else thinks!

I would ask your dad, it's his friend/acquaintence.  We left all people that we weren't sure about that our parents knew up to them, we included almost all of them, but there were some we didn't invite because it would open the doors to another group of people (if you invite Bob and Cindy, you have to invite JoAnn and George, if you invite JoAnn and George you need to invite so and so, etc. etc.).
  • If you are close with him, sure.  Ask your dad what he thinks since he's known him for a long time.  If not, you could always send him a small gift or a nice "thank you" for all of the help with the venue.
  • It would be nice to invite him.

  • good morning.

not sure how many guests you're having and it's only important in the context of keeping your ceremony intimate but without knowing the details i'd say yes invite him.  for 2 reasons.  having an additional guest to your ceremony won't increase its cost, unless your ceremony and venue site are the same location.  Even then, if he's an additional reception guest, what does that run you, an extra $250?  Like I said i'm not sure of the background, but a family friend who's saving you a decent amount of money now as a gesture of kindess, yeah I'd probably invite he and his wife.
  • Thanks! I was thinking yes also. I think my dad is overwhelmed right now with wedding stuff im the oldest and first getting married so when i asked him he was like idk maybe. I knee you girls would be extremely helpful!
