Hair/Makeup in Charlottesville VA

I'm looking for someone to do hair and makeup for my wedding in Charlottesville.  Anyone have first hand experience with this they can share with me?

I can tell you who the on-site people are, but I haven't used any of them personally yet.

When it comes to salons (meaning you go to them), Bristles, Moxie, and the salon that's in the space where Rep. Goode's office used to be on the mall all seem pretty popular for in-salon services in town.  Face Value in Old Trail in Crozet seems popular for that area.

I was just about to post this same question.

What about people who will come to my hotel room to do my hair and make-up?  Any suggestions?

I was looking into on-site services, but they were a little too expensive for me.

I'm going to Avanti Salon right off 29 near the Best Buy with all my girls to get hair & make-up done. Totally affordable, and we're allowed to bring our own brunch with us to make it more fun!!! Very excited for that.

Haven't had my trial yet (probably will be mid September - October wedding) but I'll let you know how that goes if you'd like!

The people who will come to you:
    Daphne Latham - http://daphnelatham.com/
    Elan - http://www.elan-charlottesville.com/
    Lora Kelley - http://www.loraelaine.com/blog/
    Frederick Ayers - http://www.frederickayers.com
Virginia Glenn ($75 fee of on site, but she also works at Bella Boutique on the mall) - http://virginiaglenn.com/bridal-services.htm

Salons that are popular with local brides:
    Bristles - http://www.bristles.com/
Face Value (Old Trail in Crozet, has air brush and traditional, great if you are getting married at King Family, Veritas, etc.) - http://www.facevaluestudio.com
    Bella Boutique - http://www.bellaboutiquecville.com/
    Moxie - http://moxiehairlounge.com/

*Only let a senior stylist work on you at Moxie.  I'd actually say you want one of the owners.  I had a really, really terrible cut there a few months ago.  I switched to Erica Haskins (currently at Nuckles) after that.

BodyWorks Day Spa & Salon in Lynchburg will travel to Charlottesville for weddings and offers prices that are competitive (Lynchburg prices are cheaper than Charlottesville prices).
