overwhelmed

Im starting to feel overwhelmed with everything.  I want to do everything right.  This is my F's second wedding, my first.  His first was almost like a shot-gun wedding, in his ex's parents living room with 5 people (his dad didn't come and his mom cried the entire time) and he is the one who wants a big shindig.....and I want everything to be perfect for him.  I also work two jobs and try to run our household, and we have full custody of his two teenagers (full time work right there).  To top if off, we are on a very tight 5k budget.

I'm really TRYING not to stress out and not to sweat the small stuff....but there are just soooooooooo many details to deal with.

Re: overwhelmed

  • Just get the big stuff out of the way, and then let the details fall into place. Is your FI helping you with all of this? Ask him to help you out more, since it sounds like the big wedding is important to him. And if things don't go according to plan, no one will know but you guys :)

<div>I couldn't agree more.  I'm newly engaged and the last thing I want is to make myself crazy with the details.  Of course we want our big days to be perfect, but the whole point of this stuff is to celebrate.  </div><div>It's easy to get overwhelmed with things that the wedding industry expects of us.  It's our job to throw a great party in spite of that.</div>
