Creating Your Own Monogram

Does anyone have information on how to create a monogram? I tried awhile ago and it came out terrible. I tried to look on Etsy to find someone new to design it for me but I didn't find anything that I liked.

Re: Creating Your Own Monogram

  • What program did you use? When I created mine I used photoshop but I just as easily could have done it on Word or Powerpoint. I downloaded fonts from dafont.com that I liked and looked for inspiration online. This is what mine turned out like. Simple, but that's what I was going for.

  • Also, I forgot that I found this tutorial helpful. I think she has a few more on there for different types of monograms.

  • Any idea what you want? There are all kinds of free font websites where you can download good fonts. FI favorite is http://www.fontsquirrel.com/

It's best if you design it in Adobe Illustrator (which has a free 30 or 45 day trial). But you can do it in Photoshop or...if absolutely necessary...MS Word.

If you have a Mac I can help you more. I'm basicaly PC illiterate.

  • I used Word and it was terrible. I don't have an ounce of creativity in me.

  • Thank you Cassie and Daria! I will try to work on this tonight.

Daria, I want a monogram with both of our names and his initial in the middle with our date on it. I want it in a fancy font though, if that makes sense.
