  Hi~ I am a jamaica bride.  I think the best way to start thinking about this is to check trip advisor...it depends on your needs as well.  If you want kids in attendance you can't go the Sandals route...There are a bunch of great options in Jamaica, I suggest start doing your research online and see what you are looking for. 
  
  Checking people's bios is another good way of starting this process to see where they are going.

  Welcome to the board!  I'm a Jamaica bride as well.  You can also check out the DW Brides Bio, someone here should be able to post the link.  There are a lot of different options for Jamaica, so it's all about making sure you get the best fit for your wedding.  I agree with pp, trip advisor is great.

  I'm a Jamaica bride too.  Ahhhh, Jamaica!  Loved it!!!  We wed in Negril and honeymooned in Ocho Rios.  We fell in love with Negril!  The sunsets were breath-taking and it was a very laid-back, happy vibe!  Ocho Rios had a different feel, you really can't see the sunsets (Ochi faces north), but was close to a lot of excursions that we went on & it was very pretty.
  
  There are many wonderful options...good luck to you in your planning!
  
  I have a bunch of Negril info in my bios (links below).  Just one thing to note about Negril (and Ochi) is that they're about an hour or so ride from the airport.  This didn't bother us at all, but it does bother some people.
