options please! *edited*

I was thinking about a bolero for the wedding and really like the faux fur ones. I found this one on EBAY (clicky) thoughts? My wedding is the end of March, so it is not like it will be hot out but it might not be very cold. The cost of the bolero is not too bad so it is not like I am breaking the bank.

ETA-Ok so now that I really realize how silly it would be to wear fur at the end of March... please give me some other options. :)   thanks ladies!!

This is my dress (for those ahemoodsieahem that did not want to look in my bio ;) haha)

I think its adorable.  My only worry would be that it would either look too wintery or that it would look too warm for the weather at that time.
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

I got one ot go with my dress, but when I put it on it just looked not right. It looked super pretty on the girl that wore it before me, but it just didn't go with my dress AT ALL, so my only advice would be to maybe see if the bridal store has something like this that you can try on with your dress to see if you like it/it goes with it. I like the look though, it just didn't  work for me.

That is a good idea BP, I will have to call my shop to see if they have one so I Can see it with my dress.

RA- if it was not that chilly that day I would not wear it of course. :)

Hmm... It's pretty, but I think your dress would look better with a stole of some sort. Especially with that awesome jewelry. And then, you could sell it to me after your wedding. :D

What is a stole?  I will google!

I actually do think it might be more of a winter thing, so I should look for something that is not FUR.  I do love it though. Oh well.

Is it like a pashmina?!  Cuz I do have one of those. I bought a black and a white one, because I was thinking I can wear the whtie one and my MOH can have the black one.

There's a girl on the SB board who had one for her wedding a few weeks ago... I'm at work so I can't link anything. Her name is AllAboutTheBenjamins. I'm not sure if she still has the pic up though.

I LOOOVE a fur anything for a wedding in November, December, January and February.

HOWEVER, I feel like March is kinda pushing it.  Especially late March-- it's more of a springy time.

Pepper-ricka, my mom has that a stole identical to the one you linked up.
She wore it to her Senior Prom in 1965.

I'm going to say end of March is too late in the season for fur.  Unless it happens to be one of those freak March blizzards, I'd vote no.
  • edited December 2011
Yea, so now I need to edit the post to ask for help for other options :) thanks!

I know a couple who were married March 08. Do you remember a freakishly hot day back then? Say in the 80's? Her girls carried fur muffs. They were on the news and all because of the temperature.

What the heck?  I dissagree and now I have to find you something?  I'll keep my opinions to myself thankyouverymuch.

Actually, on second thought, I don't hate the idea of the stole, but I think you could find something else.

    I'm on the job, Capt'n.

I completely messed up the year. It was last March. Still hot and they were carrying around fur!

Anyway. I had my "fur" on for a couple pictures at the most. Unless you have a freak snow storm you probably wont need anything. In that case you can borrow my white coat ;)

What about a lace stole/shawl?  Something like...

I mean not THAT one, but something like that.  My friend wanted to make one for me, but since I'm getting married in July... I'm definitely not going to need one.

Ok, so way back in June, I found this adorable wrap from The Limited that I LOOOVED.  Get this, I even blogged about how it would be perfect for a March or April wedding.

..and now they don't carry it anymore.

Here is a link to the blog post.  I don't know if you could to that Alchemy magic..

What about checking Etsy for something handmade?

I think a little lace shrug, or something that would coordinate with your gown (scattered crystals?) would be perfect.

The other thing you could do is head to the bridal salon, and ask them what they would pair with your dress for a Catholic High Mass.  Since your shoulders need to be covered during a High Mass, they should have suggestions on hand.

I almost bought something like this on Etsy for my wedding.

    http://www.etsy.com/listing/52029315/french-sugar-crimson-red-raw-silk-wrap

I think it's gorgeous for a wedding (in whatever color) if the style would go well with your dress.

Are you looking at these for style or comfort?

I wore my grandmother's fur stole for comfort and super glad I had it b/c it was freezing during our pics.  I mostly just wore it to walk from different locations and then took it off when we were doing pics.  I didn't need it other than that.  We walked to church and I didn't need it then b/c I was so psyched about the wedding that I wasn't cold at all.  Of course, this was a November wedding.  You're wedding date is only the 2nd week of spring so you never know what the weather will be like.

I was just thinking for warmth, you may or may not need it.  For style, I'd personally go without it.  It will just be one more thing for you to have to remember IMO.  Plus, your dress is gorg!  Why cover it up?

Nicole - I need it too.  I wonder if we could do a duo Alchemy request and get a 2 for 1 deal :)

B2B - with the beading on your dress I would go for something a little more sheer looking... let me check the internets for ideas.
