NWR: Vacation Spot

After a crazy busy year, FI and I are looking for somewhere to go on a little vacation.  Since we're saving for our wedding we're trying to find a good place to relax for a few days and not spend a ton of money.  I don't have my passport yet (oops) so we're stuck somewhat local.

Anyone have suggestions?

    Why not get a shore house for a week or a weekend? Our family historically rents in Ocean Beach, NJ (google ocean beach nj and they have all the rentals on their website)

    What about a weekend away in Philly, DC or Atlantic City?  You could probably get decent hotel deals and then just do touristy things, go to the beach, catch a baseball game, etc?

    Check out the website homeaway.com, you can rent condos, apartments, and houses for much cheaper than many hotels.  Two years ago we got a studio condo in myrtle beach for $475 for the week.  This year we're going with another couple and got a two bedroom house for $1,025.  You can find places all over the country to rent!
